Class X Exam Chaos: Officials Removed as Missing Graph Papers Cause Panic

0

Hyderabad, March 23, 2024 – Chaos ensued among Class X students in Hyderabad as they sat for their Mathematics examination without the necessary graph papers at a center in the city on Saturday.

Students, preparing for their crucial exam at a private school in Khairatabad, found themselves without the mandatory graph papers despite receiving the mathematics question paper bundle and main answer sheets. The oversight became apparent when students requested the essential graph papers to complete their answers.

Initially thrown into confusion, center officials instructed students to utilize the main answer sheet for graphing. However, after the exam, students raised the issue with their parents and concerned higher officials.

According to official sources, the lapse occurred due to a breakdown in communication between center officials and the School Education department. Failure to confirm receipt of all necessary materials before the exam led to the oversight.

Taking a grave view of the situation, the department promptly removed both the chief superintendent and the departmental officer from their examination duties at the center.

In a separate incident, a custodian deployed at a center in Ranga Reddy district left their post to procure additional sheets from another center during the examination. Such a serious breach resulted in the immediate dismissal of the custodian.

Furthermore, one chief superintendent and two departmental officers were relieved of their duties due to negligence.

In total, six officers faced removal from exam duties on Saturday.

Despite the administrative lapses, no malpractice cases were reported during the examination. Out of 4,95,293 regular students registered, 4,93,652 were present for the exam. Similarly, 5,301 out of 6,069 private students attended their allotted exams without incident.

Electoral Bonds Allegedly Enable Bribery via Banking Channels, Congress Claims

The Congress points out four instances of “blatant corruption” in the electoral bonds scandal: “Chanda Do, Dhanda Lo” (Prepaid Bribe); “Thheka Lo, Rishvat Do” (Postpaid Bribe); “Hafta Vasooli” (Extortion/Post-raid Bribe); and “Farzi Company.”

In a relentless assault on the BJP-led government concerning the electoral bonds controversy, the Congress asserted on Saturday that the “opaque scheme” facilitated the transfer of bribes, both prepaid and postpaid, through banking channels.

Reiterating its demand for a Supreme Court-monitored inquiry, the opposition party intensified its criticism during a press conference. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh accused the Prime Minister of endorsing corruption, contrary to his pledge to combat black money.

The Congress also unveiled a “python code” purportedly exposing the ease with which donors could be matched with political parties, contradicting the State Bank of India’s assertion that providing such data would take months.

Highlighting what it described as four blatant forms of corruption in the electoral bonds scandal, Ramesh outlined: “Chanda Do, Dhanda Lo” (Prepaid Bribe); “Thheka Lo, Rishvat Do” (Postpaid Bribe); “Hafta Vasooli” (Extortion/Post-raid Bribe); and “Farzi Company” (Shell Companies).

Ramesh alleged that an analysis using the code revealed that 38 corporate groups, benefiting from significant contracts and project approvals, had donated electoral bonds totaling Rs 2,004 crore to the BJP.

He emphasized that an SIT would investigate the electoral bond scam under the INDIA bloc’s governance. Furthermore, Ramesh promised the formation of a JPC to address the Adani matter and pledged an SIT probe into the PM-CARES Fund if the INDIA bloc assumes power.

Alleging that 41 corporate groups had contributed Rs 2,592 crore to the BJP, with a significant portion disbursed after ED/CBI/IT raids, Ramesh underscored the urgency of addressing these issues.

Delhi Court Extends ED Custody of BRS Legislator K Kavitha Until March 26 in Money Laundering Case

0

New Delhi, March 22, 2024 : A Delhi court on Saturday extended the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody of Bharat Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) legislator K Kavitha until March 26 in connection with the agency’s investigation into money laundering charges related to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy 2021-22 case.

Special judge Kaveri Baweja issued the order, directing the probe agency to present Kavitha on March 26 at 11:00 am.

On Friday, the Supreme Court denied bail to Kavitha in the case and advised her to approach the trial court, stating that it would not consider a bail plea solely because she is a political figure or could afford to approach the top court directly.

The ED informed the court that Kavitha had allegedly conspired in the payment of kickbacks amounting to Rs. 100 crore and requested a further remand of five days.

Representing the ED, Zoheb Hussain informed the court that Kavitha’s mobile data had been analyzed by experts, and she had been confronted with a forensic science report indicating that data had been deleted during the money laundering investigation. The advocate also mentioned that the ED was conducting searches at her nephew’s residence.

Kavitha, 46, the daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), was arrested by the ED from her residence in Hyderabad on the evening of March 15, following an extensive search operation and raid conducted by the federal agency and income tax officials.

On March 16, a Delhi court remanded her to ED custody until March 23, stating that her custodial interrogation was necessary to trace a significant portion of the proceeds of crime.

Appearing through advocate Nitesh Rana, Kavitha submitted to the court that the ED was seeking certain documents from her, but she would not be able to produce them until she was granted bail.

Rana informed the court that although Kavitha had filed a bail application, she was not pressing it at this time but was only requesting the court to issue a notice to the ED.

While Kavitha has not been named as an accused in any of the six charge sheets filed by the ED since November 2023, the advocate stated that she was referred to as a key figure in the excise policy-related irregularities in the court documents.

“It seems that in the ‘double-engine government’ of BJP, the fuel of electoral bonds didn’t ignite today, hence people are forced to push trains at Nihalgarh crossing in Amethi.” – Akhilesh Yadav tweeted

Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, March 22, 2024 : A video has emerged from Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi, depicting railway workers pushing a broken-down train on Friday. Onlookers captured the incident on video and shared it across social media platforms. The unexpected stoppage of the train on the outskirts also disrupted the schedule of other trains. Despite concerted efforts, workers were unable to rectify the issue, prompting them to resort to manually pushing the train. This incident underscores the imperative need for stringent safety protocols and maintenance standards within the railway department.

Inspector RS Sharma of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) commented on the incident, stating, “A DPC train used by railway officials for inspection broke down on Thursday at the outskirts of Nihalgarh Railway Station. Railway employees were deployed to manually push it to the station. Subsequently, the snag was repaired, and the train resumed its journey to its destination.”

Following the viral circulation of the video on the internet, Railway authorities have been directed to launch an investigation into the matter and take necessary measures to ensure the safety and efficiency of railway operations in the region.

In a related development, Akhilesh Yadav shared a video on his social media platforms, mocking the situation. He wrote, “Summon the Railway Minister immediately, and give him a push too! Seems like the fuel of electoral bonds didn’t ignite in the BJP’s ‘double-engine government,’ hence people are compelled to push trains at Nihalgarh crossing in Amethi.”

Amita Mahnot and her minor daughter bravely resisted the robbery bid, seizing a country-made weapon from one of the offenders. The video capturing the incident, which unfolded within the jurisdiction of Begumpet police station on Thursday, quickly went viral on social media platforms.

Law enforcement officials revealed on Friday that they have apprehended the two robbers, both originating from Uttar Pradesh. Identified as Sushil Kumar and Premchandra, the perpetrators attempted to burglarize a family residence in Begumpet. Prior to their nefarious act, the duo meticulously planned the robbery and conducted reconnaissance of the targeted property. Sushil Kumar initiated contact with Mahnot, the homeowner, feigning a delivery under the guise of N.K. Jain. While Premchandra menaced a maid with a knife in the kitchen, a scuffle ensued between Mahnot’s daughter and Sushil Kumar. Mahnot herself intervened, thwarting the robbery endeavor. Amidst the altercation, Sushil Kumar brandished a country-made firearm from his bag, attempting to intimidate the mother and daughter.

A police official disclosed that Mahnot, proficient in martial arts, retaliated by disarming Sushil Kumar with a swift kick, causing him to flee the scene. Unaware of the unfolding events outside, the second perpetrator was apprehended by neighbors who responded to the commotion. Fire Erupts in Mumbai-Gorakhpur Godan Express Bogie Near Nashik, No Casualties Reported

0

Nashik, March 22 : A fire broke out in a seating-cum-luggage coach of the Mumbai-Gorakhpur Godan Express near Nashik Road station in north Maharashtra on Friday afternoon. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties, confirmed railway officials.

The incident occurred as the train, numbered 11055, was en route to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, from Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. Passengers witnessed smoke billowing from the SLR (seating-cum-luggage rake) compartment as the train passed by the Nashik Municipal Corporation water filtration plant, located between Nashik Road and Gorewadi railway gate.

Prompt action was taken by passengers and railway personnel. Upon noticing the smoke, passengers raised an alarm, leading the guard to immediately stop the train and inform railway authorities. However, some passengers, caught in panic, resorted to jumping off the train.

The Nashik Road deputy station master swiftly notified the fire brigade about the blaze. Railway personnel attempted to contain the fire using foam until the fire brigade arrived. Challenges arose due to the high-tension power supply in the vicinity, making it difficult to extinguish the flames with water.

The affected bogie was detached from the train, which resumed its journey at 15:28 hrs. The fire brigade successfully extinguished the blaze by 16:00 hrs. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries among passengers.

Among the goods stored in the SLR bogie was a motorcycle, according to officials. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by railway authorities.

Congress Muslim Leaders Discontent Over Hyderabad Seat Given to ‘Outsider’ Sparks Intra-Party Strife

0

“This is called politics.”

Hyderabad: Discord brews within the ranks of the Congress party as Muslim leaders express discontent over the selection of the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat candidate. Supreme Court lawyer Shahnaz Tabassum, chosen by the party’s central leadership to contest against incumbent MP Asaduddin Owaisi from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has sparked controversy among minority leaders.

The decision to field Tabassum has drawn criticism from within the Telangana Congress unit, with senior leaders feeling sidelined. Tabassum, though respected in legal circles and serving as the founder and national president of All India Azaad Congress Party, is viewed as an “outsider” by some within the party ranks.

“A smooth sailing with Muslim votes is Revanth Reddy’s priority, hence the alliance with AIMIM. But what about our loyal party members who have toiled for years? Tabassum may be a respected lawyer, but she lacks the grassroots connection to mount a credible challenge,” remarked a senior Congress Muslim leader, preferring anonymity.

The discontent extends to the defunct state of the party’s minority cell, with leaders lamenting the lack of direction and representation. The absence of a chairman in the minority cell, following Sheikh Abdullah Sohail’s departure to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has further exacerbated the situation.

A senior TPCC member hinted at the Congress’s strategic maneuvering to maintain friendly relations with the AIMIM, a surprising turn given Owaisi’s vocal criticism of the party. The Congress’s initial plan to support the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, following a close contest in last year’s Assembly polls, has also been abandoned.

“The Congress seems indifferent to fielding a strong Muslim contender against Owaisi, despite its electoral potential. This reluctance underscores the party’s lack of cohesive Muslim leadership in the state,” emphasized a minority leader from the Congress.

With Telangana offering 17 Lok Sabha seats, the AIMIM’s stronghold on Hyderabad since 1984 presents a formidable challenge for any opposing candidate. In 2019, Owaisi secured a significant victory with approximately five lakh votes, leaving his closest competitor from the BJP trailing with 2.35 lakh votes. As the electoral battleground heats up, internal dissent within the Congress threatens to undermine its prospects in the crucial Hyderabad constituency.
