The Congress points out four instances of “blatant corruption” in the electoral bonds scandal: “Chanda Do, Dhanda Lo” (Prepaid Bribe); “Thheka Lo, Rishvat Do” (Postpaid Bribe); “Hafta Vasooli” (Extortion/Post-raid Bribe); and “Farzi Company.”

In a relentless assault on the BJP-led government concerning the electoral bonds controversy, the Congress asserted on Saturday that the “opaque scheme” facilitated the transfer of bribes, both prepaid and postpaid, through banking channels.

Reiterating its demand for a Supreme Court-monitored inquiry, the opposition party intensified its criticism during a press conference. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh accused the Prime Minister of endorsing corruption, contrary to his pledge to combat black money.

The Congress also unveiled a “python code” purportedly exposing the ease with which donors could be matched with political parties, contradicting the State Bank of India’s assertion that providing such data would take months.

Highlighting what it described as four blatant forms of corruption in the electoral bonds scandal, Ramesh outlined: “Chanda Do, Dhanda Lo” (Prepaid Bribe); “Thheka Lo, Rishvat Do” (Postpaid Bribe); “Hafta Vasooli” (Extortion/Post-raid Bribe); and “Farzi Company” (Shell Companies).

Ramesh alleged that an analysis using the code revealed that 38 corporate groups, benefiting from significant contracts and project approvals, had donated electoral bonds totaling Rs 2,004 crore to the BJP.

He emphasized that an SIT would investigate the electoral bond scam under the INDIA bloc’s governance. Furthermore, Ramesh promised the formation of a JPC to address the Adani matter and pledged an SIT probe into the PM-CARES Fund if the INDIA bloc assumes power.

Alleging that 41 corporate groups had contributed Rs 2,592 crore to the BJP, with a significant portion disbursed after ED/CBI/IT raids, Ramesh underscored the urgency of addressing these issues.
