Hyderabad Traffic Police’s Novel Solution: Schools Urged to Implement Staggered Timings

0

In response to escalating traffic congestion in school zones, the Hyderabad Traffic Police has proactively engaged with school managements to introduce staggered timings. The strategic initiative aims to ensure that neighboring schools commence and conclude their daily operations at varying intervals, effectively mitigating the simultaneous influx and outflow of traffic. The successful implementation of this plan holds the promise of reduced traffic chaos, consequently benefiting regular commuters in the vicinity.

The impetus for devising staggered school timings arose from the persistent grievances of everyday commuters, who voiced concerns about prevalent traffic jams and sluggish traffic movements around regions densely populated with educational institutions. Despite the presence of traffic personnel, localities housing multiple schools were plagued by persistent gridlocks, severely hampering traffic flow.

Recently, a constructive dialogue was established with school managements, garnering widespread support for the collaborative effort to minimize inconvenience. “We are optimistic that our proposed measures will take effect by the end of this month,” affirmed G Sudheer Babu, Additional Commissioner of Traffic.

As part of the strategy, schools have been advised to stagger their timings by 15-minute intervals, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion. Task forces of traffic officers have already pinpointed specific areas characterized by clusters of schools, where traffic-related challenges manifest frequently. Depending on factors such as traffic density, student population, and the number of vehicles congregating to pick up students, the traffic police intend to categorize school zones into distinct sectors. Recommendations for opening and closing times will then be proposed to school administrations.

The traffic police are advocating for the facilitation of on-site vehicle pick-up within school premises, rather than the prevalent practice of parking outside. In instances where limited open space precludes this approach, measures such as assigning security personnel to regulate road traffic and deploying a small number of traffic officers are being implemented

Supreme Court Relief: Rahul Gandhi Reclaims MP Status, Congress Jubilant.

Victory of Love in the Face of Hatred” is always a powerful message that represents bringing humanity together. In such contexts, with love and wisdom, hatred can always be defeated, leading to the creation of an ideal society.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary membership has been reinstated after the Supreme Court’s recent decision to temporarily suspend his conviction in a defamation case originating from 2019. This development has significant implications for both his political career and the larger political landscape in India.

After being temporarily suspended by the Supreme Court in relation to a defamation case from 2019, Rahul Gandhi, a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress party, has had his parliamentary membership reinstated.

The defamation case centered around remarks he made concerning the ‘Modi surname’.

The Supreme Court’s decision to suspend his conviction provided the basis for his return to the political arena.

A communication originating from the Lok Sabha secretariat, which serves as the administrative hub for the lower house of India’s Parliament, confirmed the reversal of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification as a member of the Lok Sabha, which is the lower house of the Indian Parliament.

This move indicates that he is once again eligible to participate in parliamentary proceedings and fulfill his responsibilities as a representative of the people. To provide context, Rahul Gandhi had previously faced disqualification as a Lok Sabha Member of Parliament on March 23. This action was taken following a verdict by a court in Gujarat, which had found him guilty in a defamation case related to his comments about the ‘Modi surname’.

The court’s ruling led to a two-year jail sentence for him. This development had temporarily sidelined him from his parliamentary role, pending any legal remedies he might pursue. However, the recent suspension of his conviction by the Supreme Court altered this scenario.

The suspension essentially put a hold on the consequences of the defamation conviction, allowing Rahul Gandhi to resume his political engagement and parliamentary duties.

The Supreme Court’s decision acknowledged the possibility that the conviction might be revisited or overturned in subsequent legal proceedings. In essence, the reinstatement of Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary membership underscores the interplay between legal processes, political engagement, and the functioning of democracy.

His return to the political sphere will undoubtedly impact the discourse and dynamics within India’s political landscape, particularly given his influential position within the Congress party and his family’s historical role in Indian politics.

Telangana State Assembly Passes Bill to Merge TSRTC with State Government.

0

The State Assembly on Sunday passed the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Absorption of Employees) into Government Service Bill 2023, paving the way for the merger of TSRTC with the State government.

Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar introduced the Bill in the Assembly after Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan’s approval earlier that day.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao addressed concerns about RTC employees’ welfare and asset safety, stating that the decision to merge RTC with the government was driven by mounting losses due to increasing diesel prices and expenses.

The Cabinet thoroughly discussed the matter before reaching the final decision.

The Chief Minister clarified that the government’s social obligation to provide affordable public transport led to the decision to absorb employees and merge the corporation, with a yearly allocation of Rs 1,500 crore for TSRTC
operations.

Transport Minister Ajay Kumar confirmed that the Corporation would continue to operate under the administrative control of the Transport, Roads, and Buildings department, with the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director at its helm.

Employees would be absorbed into public services as government employees, while existing TSRTC service rules would remain in force until new rules were framed.

Despite the additional burden of around Rs 3,000 crore per annum, the Chief Minister assured that contract and outsourcing workers would continue to provide services according to the existing rules.

There were no plans to sell or auction RTC assets, as the government debunked such allegations.
