SITAPUR, March 22, 2024 : Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav made a notable visit to Sitapur Jail, where he met with incarcerated SP leader Azam Khan. Yadav strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, accusing it of unjust treatment towards Khan and his family.
During his visit, Yadav denounced the alleged harassment faced by Khan’s family, denouncing it as utterly inhumane. He expressed solidarity with Khan and his family, vowing to fight for justice.
Addressing the media after spending over 45 minutes in conversation with Khan inside the jail, Yadav conveyed his confidence in Khan’s pursuit for justice. “Times change. Time is a great force. Justice will be served for Azam Khan,” remarked Yadav.
Directing criticism towards the BJP, Yadav accused the party of fabricating false cases against political opponents. “The BJP has a track record of fabricating false cases, but ultimately, the truth prevails,” he added.
Yadav seized the opportunity to highlight recent revelations regarding electoral bonds, suggesting that it exposes the true nature of the BJP. “Now, the Samajwadi Party will emerge victorious over the BJP,” he asserted.
As anticipation builds for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Yadav commented on the irony of BJP-led governments incarcerating chief ministers while their involvement in controversial practices is being exposed through electoral bonds.
Yadav’s meeting with Azam Khan holds significance in the context of the impending elections, with speculation arising about the finalization of the candidate for the Rampur constituency following Khan’s approval.
