“NEET Exam Controversy Sparks Nationwide Education Strike Tomorrow”

“Students Demand Education Justice”

Hyderabad: A nationwide education strike is on the horizon as student unions, including the Students Federation of India (SFI) and All India Students Federation (AISF), intensify their demands for a re-examination of NEET-UG results amidst allegations of paper leaks. The controversy has prompted schools and colleges in Hyderabad to declare a holiday tomorrow, aligning with the Bharat Bandh call by SFI on Thursday, July 4.

Student unions across the country have been vocal about the need for transparency in the NEET-UG examination process, alleging manipulation of results. They are advocating for the cancellation of the current results and a fresh examination to safeguard the interests of approximately 24 lakh aspirants.

In Hyderabad, several educational institutions have already notified students about the closure through WhatsApp messages and circulars. Many colleges have opted for online classes to ensure minimal disruption to academic activities during the strike.

Leaders of SFI and Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) in Hyderabad have spearheaded the call for a bandh of schools and colleges, citing concerns over political interference in higher education institutions. They have also demanded the withdrawal of legal actions taken against students and student leaders involved in recent protests.

The unions have urged parents to support their cause and ensure widespread participation in the bandh across Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. They are encouraging parents to persuade schools and colleges to observe the strike and declare a holiday in solidarity with their demands for a fair and transparent examination process.

Labourer Gets Rs 31 Lakh Bill, Barber Rs 27 Lakh, Tea Vendor Rs 36 Lakh in Muzaffarpur

Low-income residents in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, receive shocking electricity bills worth lakhs due to smart meter errors, prompting investigations by the electricity department and causing significant distress among affected families

Residents of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, are facing ‘current shocks’ from astronomical electricity bills despite their low usage. Labourers, tea vendors, and salon operators have received bills worth lakhs of rupees, even after installing smart meters.

Case 1: Tea Vendor Receives Rs 36 Lakh Bill

Kameshwar Sah, an 80-year-old tea vendor from Baraitha of Basghatta Panchayat, received a shocking bill of Rs 36,92,329 for June. Despite having only two bulbs and a fan, his consumption was recorded at 4,63,867 units. Sah, distressed by the bill, has been visiting electricity offices for days. The electricity department admitted a technical error and promised to correct the bill.

Case 2: Labourer Hit with Rs 31 Lakh Bill

Shubhlal Sahni, a labourer from Pier in Bandra block, received a bill of Rs 31 lakh after a smart meter installation two months ago. With only two bulbs and a fan, the bill was deemed incorrect by the electricity department, which is now investigating the issue.

Case 3: Salon Operator Billed Rs 27 Lakh

Vinay Kumar, a salon operator from Faridpur in Meenapur block, received a bill of Rs 27,10,618. Despite his normal monthly bills ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 500, Kumar’s electricity was cut off after the massive bill. The electricity department has assured him of a correction.

The electricity department has acknowledged the errors in all three cases and is working on rectifying the issues. Meanwhile, the affected residents continue to face significant distress.

Rahul Exposes Modi-Shah’s Hindutva Facade: Saamana Editorial

Saamana Editorial

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a fierce attack, stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) does not hold a monopoly over Hindutva or Hindus. In a packed parliament, Gandhi tore apart the facade of Modi, Shah, and their BJP allies, causing a significant uproar. This led to a situation where, for the first time in the last ten years, Amit Shah had to seek protection from the Lok Sabha Speaker. Gandhi deserves commendation for this bold move.

During the discussion on the President’s address, Rahul Gandhi scratched away at the divinity attributed to Modi. Gandhi said, “These people are inciting riots in the name of Hindutva. They are spreading jealousy and hatred. True Hindutva supports truth with restraint, liberality, and courage.” Prime Minister Modi, visibly angered, accused Gandhi of insulting the Hindu community. To this, Gandhi sharply retorted, “Sir, you do not understand Hindutva. BJP does not mean Hindutva.” Modi’s expression was worth seeing. No one had dared to confront Modi and Shah in such a manner before. This duo has tried to keep the parliament under their control through terror and a ruthless majority, but with the emergence of a strong opposition under Gandhi’s leadership, the chariot of those misusing Hindutva has been overturned.

For ten years, Modi and Shah played on religious sentiments, dividing people. Gandhi also held a mirror to Lok Sabha Speaker Birla. “When I shook hands with you as the Leader of the Opposition, you stood tall, but when you shook hands with Modi, you bowed. This implies that democracy itself has bowed,” Gandhi remarked. His attack left the parliament’s sycophants and blind followers in a daze.

With one swift move, Gandhi left over 100 suspended MPs in an empty parliament to pass significant laws, shaking the very walls of a dormant parliament for the past decade. “I am not a biological son but a son of God, and I communicate directly with God,” Modi claims. Gandhi ridiculed this persona, questioning if demonetization was a direct message from God or if the order to hand over Mumbai airport to Adani also came from above. Modi and Shah had no choice but to seek protection from the Lok Sabha Speaker.

Narendra Modi became a subject of ridicule in the parliament because of his own actions. Despite manipulating his way to become Prime Minister, his leadership is now facing a decline. Gandhi revealed another truth: “Modi wanted to contest from Ayodhya. He commissioned three survey companies. All three reported that Modi should avoid Ayodhya as the people there would defeat him. Hence, he moved to Varanasi and somehow managed to win!” No one had mocked Modi this way before. Modi’s version of Hindutva promotes hatred and violence, pitting Hindus against Muslims. The PM did not visit the violence-hit Manipur even once. BJP spreads the poison of fear and hatred; this is neither nationalism nor Hindutva. Hinduism is cultured and sophisticated, virtues that BJP lacks.

During the election campaign, Modi spoke of “Muzaffarnagar,” warning that Muslims would snatch mangalsutras from your wives’ necks and take one of your buffaloes if you had two. Despite such inflammatory speeches, Modi did not receive Hindu votes. He faced crushing defeats in states like Maharashtra, West Bengal, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh. Modi’s fake Hindutva failed, and on Monday, Rahul Gandhi crushed Modi-Shah in parliament.

On one side, there was Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Kiren Rijiju, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Bhupender Yadav, and on the other side, a lone Rahul Gandhi who outweighed them all. Gandhi shattered the arrogance of Modi and Shah in parliament.

Modi-Shah have been misusing agencies like the ED and CBI to terrorize the entire opposition. The time has come for these arrogant leaders to petition the Lok Sabha Speaker for protection from Rahul Gandhi, who is now the Leader of the Opposition. This is karma. Modi and Shah will face even worse days ahead. Stopping Gandhi is not easy; this message has surely reached the ED and CBI!

Ranchi, July 3, 2024 – Champai Soren tendered his resignation as Jharkhand Chief Minister to the Governor on Wednesday. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) executive president Hemant Soren has staked a claim to form the new government.

Champai Soren addressed the media after stepping down, stating, “A few days ago, I was made the Chief Minister and given the responsibility of the state. After Hemant Soren returned, our alliance decided to choose him as our leader. Now, I have resigned from the post of Chief Minister.”

The 67-year-old JMM leader was sworn in as the Chief Minister on February 2, following Hemant Soren’s resignation due to an alleged land scam investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Hemant Soren, accompanied by Champai Soren, met Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan to stake his claim to form the government. Hemant Soren was released from jail on June 28 after nearly five months, having been granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court in a money laundering case linked to the alleged land scam.

“The CM (Champai Soren) has informed you of everything. We will provide all details in due course. We have followed all necessary procedures,” Hemant Soren told reporters after meeting the Governor.

After his release, Hemant Soren claimed to be a victim of conspiracy. “I was falsely implicated. A conspiracy was hatched against me, and I was forced to spend five months in jail. I respect the judiciary. The court delivered its order, and I am out on bail. However, the judicial process is long,” he added.

The Jharkhand High Court stated, “Though the conduct of the petitioner has been highlighted by the Enforcement Directorate due to the FIR instituted by the petitioner against the ED officials, there is no likelihood of the petitioner committing a similar nature of offense.”

Public Outcry as Female Students Made to Move Furniture at Tandur Government Junior College

Tandur — Female students at the Government Junior College in Tandur were made to move furniture, prompting public criticism of the principal and college staff. The principal’s explanation was met with ridicule.

Students are often advised to work hard to excel in today’s competitive world. Educational experts, officials, and motivational speakers frequently stress the importance of hard work and perseverance for success in life.

It seems that the principal and staff of the Government Junior College in Tandur misunderstood this advice, thinking that making students move furniture would teach them the value of hard work. Despite a change in government in Telangana six months ago, it appears that the conditions of public departments, schools, and colleges remain unchanged.

Today, journalists and passersby in Tandur, Vikarabad district, witnessed female students carrying heavy furniture. Observers lamented the situation, perhaps assuming that manual labor had become part of the curriculum in government colleges.

Details of this unfortunate incident reveal that new classrooms were constructed near the existing building at the Government Junior College in Tandur, costing two crore rupees. Although these new classrooms were built more than half a kilometer from the old ones, they remained locked even after construction was completed.

After students advocated for their use, the new classrooms were opened but lacked furniture. Female students hoped that furniture from the old classrooms would be moved soon, but they were disappointed. Today, female students were seen moving furniture from the upper floor of the old classrooms to the upper floor of the new classrooms.

When journalists and passersby saw this and videos and news reports spread on media and social media, a wave of anger surged among parents and the public. They questioned why laborers were not hired to move the furniture and why students were forced to do it themselves.

The principal, Raj Mohan Rao, offered a ridiculous explanation, claiming that he did not instruct the students to move the furniture; they did it on their own initiative. He stated that the college lacked the funds to pay laborers and that there were no attendants available.

Meanwhile, the public is questioning the state of schools, colleges, and administration in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s own district of Vikarabad, particularly in Tandur. They wonder what the situation might be like in other districts regarding staff quality and behavior in government schools and colleges.

The public demands action against the principal and staff and insists that all necessary facilities be provided to the students, most of whom come from poor and middle-class backgrounds.

Congress Issues Three-Line Whip for Lok Sabha Speaker Election

0

New Delhi: The Congress party has issued a three-line whip to all its MPs, directing them to be present in the Lok Sabha on June 26 for the election of the Speaker. This election is scheduled to take place during the special session of Parliament on Wednesday.

In a letter from the Congress Parliamentary Party, MPs were informed, “A very important issue will be brought to the Lok Sabha tomorrow. All the members of the Congress Party in the Lok Sabha are requested to please remain present in the House from 11 a.m. till the adjournment of the House. This message should be considered very important.”

K Suresh, who is the opposition’s candidate for the Speaker position, issued the whip on behalf of the Congress. Similarly, the BJP has also directed all its MPs to attend the session on Wednesday for the election.

This will be the first contested election for the Lok Sabha Speaker since 1952. Om Birla from the NDA will face K. Suresh of the I.N.D.I.A block. Initially, there seemed to be an agreement between the BJP-led NDA and the opposition for the Speaker’s post. However, the opposition’s demand for the Deputy Speaker position, which was rejected by the NDA, led to the breakdown of consensus.

Shabbir Ali Criticizes BRS Leaders Over Party Defections Comments

0

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and government advisor Shabbir Ali criticized the BRS party leaders over their stance on party defections during a media briefing at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday. Ali questioned KCR’s actions in denying Bhatti Vikramarka the status of Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly.

Ali pointed out that the BRS party lost its deposit in eight parliamentary election seats and is now discussing disqualification. He also criticized the allocation of 11 acres of land for the BRS party office, suggesting that the government should reclaim the land and auction it to fund loan waivers.

Additionally, Ali highlighted the lack of an official office for the Congress party, urging that the lands given to the BRS party in Kokapet be reclaimed. He accused KCR of putting Telangana up for sale and criticized his overall governance of the state.
