“Students Demand Education Justice”

Hyderabad: A nationwide education strike is on the horizon as student unions, including the Students Federation of India (SFI) and All India Students Federation (AISF), intensify their demands for a re-examination of NEET-UG results amidst allegations of paper leaks. The controversy has prompted schools and colleges in Hyderabad to declare a holiday tomorrow, aligning with the Bharat Bandh call by SFI on Thursday, July 4.

Student unions across the country have been vocal about the need for transparency in the NEET-UG examination process, alleging manipulation of results. They are advocating for the cancellation of the current results and a fresh examination to safeguard the interests of approximately 24 lakh aspirants.

In Hyderabad, several educational institutions have already notified students about the closure through WhatsApp messages and circulars. Many colleges have opted for online classes to ensure minimal disruption to academic activities during the strike.

Leaders of SFI and Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) in Hyderabad have spearheaded the call for a bandh of schools and colleges, citing concerns over political interference in higher education institutions. They have also demanded the withdrawal of legal actions taken against students and student leaders involved in recent protests.

The unions have urged parents to support their cause and ensure widespread participation in the bandh across Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. They are encouraging parents to persuade schools and colleges to observe the strike and declare a holiday in solidarity with their demands for a fair and transparent examination process.
