In Collin County, Texas, four individuals of Telugu origin have been charged with allegedly operating a forced labor scheme. The Princeton police have been actively searching for these individuals since March this year, when the operation first came to light.
On March 13, officers were dispatched to a residence on the 1000 block of Ginsburg Lane in response to a welfare concern and suspicious circumstances. Upon investigation, they obtained a search warrant for the home of Santhosh Katkoori. Inside, they found 15 women who reported being forced to work for several shell companies owned by Katkoori and his wife, Dwaraka Gunda.
The investigation revealed that both women and men were being exploited as programmers. During the search, authorities seized laptops, phones, printers, and fraudulent documents. Further inquiries led to the discovery of multiple locations in Princeton, Melissa, and McKinney involved in the operation, where additional electronic devices and documents were confiscated.
Following an extensive analysis of the seized electronics, arrest warrants were issued for Santhosh Katkoori (31), Dwaraka Gunda (31), Chandan Dasireddy (24), and Anil Male (37). All four are charged with trafficking of persons, a second-degree felony. It remains unclear if they have secured legal representation.
The Princeton Police have indicated that additional charges against other parties may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. They urge anyone with information or who has been a victim of trafficking to contact the department.
