UK Surgeons to Offer Free Paediatric Heart Surgeries for Children Under Five

Hyderabad, – In a remarkable humanitarian effort, a team of surgeons from the United Kingdom (UK) is set to perform paediatric heart surgeries on children under five years of age, entirely free of cost. This week-long heart surgery camp will take place at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad from September 24 to 30.

This noble initiative, titled ‘Healing Little Hearts Charlie’s Heart Hero’s Camp,’ aims to provide critical, life-saving heart surgeries to newborns and children with complex heart conditions, without any financial burden. Dr. Bheerappa, Director of NIMS, confirmed that these surgeries will be made available to eligible patients at no cost.

Heading this humanitarian mission is Dr. Ramana Dhannapuneni, Head of Cardiac Surgery at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in the UK. Dr. Dhannapuneni will lead a team of ten skilled surgeons and other medical caregivers, collaborating with surgeons at Niloufer Hospital to carry out these vital heart surgeries at NIMS.

Parents whose children require immediate surgical intervention for heart conditions are encouraged to call 040-23489025 between 9 am and 2 pm for further information and to determine eligibility.

This initiative showcases the power of international collaboration and compassion, offering hope and a new lease on life to young patients and their families.
