Hyderabad :- Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET), a venerable institution with a four-decade legacy, is spearheading efforts to promote rural development through technological innovation. In collaboration with the National Institute for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, MJCET is undertaking a series of initiatives aimed at empowering rural communities with cutting-edge technology.
With a diverse array of academic offerings, including eight B.E courses and five M.E courses, MJCET has long been committed to fostering projects that bolster development in rural regions. The establishment of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan Cell, endorsed by the national coordinator at IIT Delhi and the regional coordinator at NIRDPR, underscores the institution’s dedication to this cause. By adopting five villages in the Sangareddy district of Telangana state, MJCET aims to enhance the livelihoods of villagers through the transfer and customization of technological solutions.
As part of its engagement in the Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan (UBA), MJCET collaborated with NIRDPR to host an orientation program titled “MISSION LiFE: Lifestyle to the Environment.” This initiative addresses pressing issues such as climate change and global warming, advocating for individual, community, and institutional action to mitigate environmental degradation. Emphasizing themes such as energy conservation, water preservation, and sustainable living practices, MISSION LiFE aims to catalyze a shift from mindless consumption to mindful utilization.
Esteemed speakers at the orientation program included Dr. R. Ramesh and Dr. P. Anuradha, distinguished faculty members from NIRDPR, Hyderabad. Faculty and students, along with the NIRDPR team, pledged their commitment to societal development as responsible citizens.
Dr. Mohammad Sadak Ali Khan, Programme Coordinator of UBA Cell, along with key members of MJCET UBA cell, provided insights into the various events and projects executed under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan. The invaluable support from Dr. Mahipal Singh Rawat, Principal, and Mr. Narsimha Rao, Registrar, of MJCET has been instrumental in the successful execution of these initiatives. Dr. Mohammad Viquar Mohiuddin, Head of the Mechanical Department at MJCET, has played a pivotal role in motivating and encouraging staff and students to actively participate in UBA activities.
The collaboration between MJCET and NIRDPR heralds a new era of innovation-driven rural development, laying the groundwork for sustainable progress and prosperity in rural India.
At the end, everyone took the following pledge:
