Nalgonda: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises while acknowledging a shortfall in countering anti-government campaigns on social media.

Speaking at a public meeting in Nalgonda, Revanth Reddy stated, “We are working 18 hours a day, but our party activists are still immersed in celebrations. We are falling behind in addressing the narrative against our government on social media.” He emphasized the responsibility of party workers to actively support and safeguard the government’s initiatives.

Key Announcements:

  1. Future City Plan:
The Chief Minister reiterated his vision for a Future City spanning 50,000 acres, which would replace the proposed Pharma City. He acknowledged the challenges associated with developmental projects, stating, “If something has to be constructed, someone has to lose something.” He also assured that the River Musi project would be pursued despite opposition.
  2. Road Infrastructure Development:
Revanth Reddy revealed that Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had prioritized the Outer Ring Road (ORR) around Nalgonda over the Regional Ring Road (RRR) due to cost considerations.
    • The ORR project is estimated to cost ₹400 crore, whereas the RRR project requires ₹35,000 crore.
    • Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had insisted on approving only one project at a time. Venkat Reddy chose the ORR, and the State government plans to secure approval for the RRR in the future.

The Chief Minister’s remarks underscored the government’s focus on balancing development with fiscal prudence while urging party workers to engage actively in defending the administration’s achievements.
