MaxPaul Franklin Hails Tesla’s Innovation and Elon Musk’s Leadership After Life-Saving Journey

In a remarkable turn of events, a man from Virginia credits his Tesla vehicle’s Full Self-Driving feature with saving his life after he experienced a heart attack. MaxPaul Franklin shared his extraordinary ordeal on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, praising both Tesla’s technology and its CEO, Elon Musk.

Franklin recounted the harrowing experience, stating that on the early hours of April 2, he suffered a mild heart attack. Severely dehydrated and with elevated glucose levels due to a malfunction in his insulin pump, Franklin turned to his Tesla Model Y for assistance. With no time to spare, he activated the Full Self-Driving feature with a simple double click on the steering column stalk.

“To my amazement,” Franklin wrote, “the car skillfully navigated the 13-mile journey from my home to the VA Emergency Room, autonomously offering to park upon arrival, allowing me to seek immediate medical attention.”

Franklin expressed his gratitude towards Tesla, declaring it “the pinnacle of automotive innovation today,” and highlighting the life-saving capabilities of its Full Self-Driving technology in critical moments. He likened the upgrade from traditional vehicles to Tesla’s autonomous functionality to transitioning from a basic phone to a smartphone.

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving mode represents the latest advancement in autonomous driving technology, surpassing the Autopilot mode introduced in 2014. As of April 12, users could subscribe to the feature for $99 a month in the US.

However, Tesla reminds users that while the technology continues to evolve, drivers must remain vigilant and ready to intervene when necessary. The company emphasizes that current Autopilot and Full Self-Driving features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle fully autonomous.

Despite the destruction, power supply to 3 million consumers remained intact, as the grid compensated for the loss, given the current low demand. However, the ramifications of the strikes loom large, particularly with the impending rise in air conditioning usage during the summer months.

Overnight assaults also inflicted damage on energy infrastructure in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, leaving over 200,000 residents without power. Described by Ukraine’s largest private energy operator, DTEK, as one of the most formidable attacks this year, Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko characterized the onslaught as a “large scale, enormous, missile attack” severely impacting the energy sector.

Russia’s intensified strikes on Ukrainian energy assets, including last month’s blackout that plunged vast swathes of the country into darkness, have raised alarm among defenders and spurred urgent efforts to bolster defenses and enhance repair capabilities. Ukraine’s calls for additional air defense systems have encountered delays, leaving the nation vulnerable to further attacks.
