“Empowering Shia Voices: High Court Plea”

Hyderabad: In a bid to address the dire circumstances faced by the Shia community in Telangana, a formal petition has been submitted to the High Court. The petition, spearheaded by the Shia Civil Council for Social Justice, highlights the community’s overwhelming poverty rate of 90% and the lack of response from the Commissioner of Welfare of Telangana.

Despite prior appeals for assistance, the community’s plight remains unaddressed, prompting the Shia Civil Council to escalate the matter to the High Court. The petition calls for the appointment of a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) dedicated to representing the Shia community and addressing their urgent needs for development and well-being.

Responding to the urgent plea, the Honorable High Court Justice has issued an order under Writ Petition No. 4601 of 2024. This order directs the Telangana Government and the esteemed Telangana Governor to consider the appointment of an MLC to advocate for the development and progress of the Shia community in Telangana.

Advocate V. Raghu Mannepalli, accompanied by prominent figures from the Shia Civil Council for Social Justice, addressed the media outside the High Court regarding the petition. National Secretary Syed Shakeel Hyder and Syed Hyder Raza Naqvi, National General Secretary Hidayet Ali Mirza, National Joint Secretary Mohammed Ali Hyder, National Vice President Syed Abid Hussain, and National PRO Syed Rafath were present during the press briefing.
