Bomb Threats Cause Panic Across Indian Airlines: Over 30 Flights Affected on October 19

0

New Delhi: In what has been dubbed as a ‘Stormy Saturday’ for Indian airlines, over 30 flights were subjected to bomb threats on October 19, causing widespread panic and disruptions. Multiple airlines, including Vistara, Air India, IndiGo, Akasa Air, SpiceJet, and Alliance Air, were impacted by these threats. According to reports, a total of 38 flights received bomb threats over the past week via social media posts, marking a concerning rise in such incidents.

Specific Flights Targeted on October 19

Among the targeted flights were several high-profile routes, including IndiGo’s flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Istanbul, and a Jodhpur to Delhi route. Vistara also reported a security scare on its Udaipur to Mumbai flight, which was taken to an isolation bay for inspections upon landing at Mumbai Airport. Additionally, three international flights that departed from Delhi—bound for Paris, Hong Kong, and London—also faced bomb threats.

IndiGo acknowledged the threats through two public statements regarding its flights 6E 17 (Mumbai to Istanbul) and 6E 11 (Delhi to Istanbul). The airline, along with security agencies, took immediate precautionary measures to ensure passenger safety.

October 19 Timeline: A Day of Disturbances

  • Morning (October 19): Bomb threats began surfacing early in the day, affecting over 20 flights within hours. IndiGo’s Hyderabad to Chandigarh flight and Jodhpur to Delhi flight both received security alerts. Flight 6E 184 from Jodhpur safely landed in Delhi, where passengers were disembarked, and the aircraft was thoroughly inspected.
  • Afternoon (October 19): Vistara’s flight UK 624, operating from Udaipur to Mumbai, also received a bomb threat shortly before landing. Upon arrival in Mumbai, the plane was taken to an isolated area, where it underwent mandatory security checks.
  • Evening (October 19): The number of bomb threats climbed as more flights came under scrutiny, creating chaos for airlines and passengers alike. Vistara confirmed that three of its international flights had received similar threats, including its Delhi-London flight, which was diverted to Frankfurt as a precautionary measure.

Bomb Threat Hoaxes: A Recurring Issue

While all the bomb threats were later declared hoaxes, the rising number of such incidents is concerning. In recent days alone, over 40 flights from Indian carriers have been impacted by bomb threats. The security measures taken include diverting flights, emergency landings, and thorough inspections of the aircraft, causing major delays and distress among passengers.

Airlines Respond with Enhanced Security Measures

Airlines have been coordinating with security agencies to address the situation and follow standard procedures during such threats. IndiGo, Vistara, and other carriers have been implementing additional safety measures and ensuring that all flights are cleared before takeoff.

Security agencies are investigating the origins of these threats, most of which were circulated via social media platforms. Authorities are working to prevent future hoaxes and minimize the impact of these threats on flight operations.

As these incidents continue to unfold, the aviation sector is on high alert, taking all necessary steps to safeguard passengers and crew while maintaining strict adherence to security protocols.

Seat-Sharing Formula Announced for Jharkhand Assembly Polls by INDIA Bloc; RJD Expresses Discontent

0

Ranchi: The seat-sharing formula for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand was revealed on Saturday by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. However, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, has voiced dissatisfaction with the arrangement, leaving the possibility of contesting the elections independently open.

During a press conference held at his official residence, Soren, accompanied by Jharkhand Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir and other senior leaders, announced that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress would contest 70 of the 81 seats. The remaining 11 seats will be shared among the RJD and Left parties.

“We have expanded our alliance to include the Left parties. The JMM and Congress will contest the majority of seats, with the remaining being allocated to the RJD and CPI-ML,” Soren explained during the briefing.

While Soren did not provide the specific seat distribution among the alliance partners, it is expected that further details will be disclosed soon.

Background and Seat Distribution

In the 2019 assembly elections, the JMM, Congress, and RJD formed a pre-poll alliance. The seat distribution at that time allocated 43 seats to JMM, 31 to Congress, and 7 to RJD. The alliance secured a majority, winning 47 seats in total—JMM with 30, Congress with 16, and RJD with just one seat. Now, ahead of the 2024 polls, the alliance has expanded to include the CPI-ML under the INDIA bloc.

While the detailed breakdown of seats for the 2024 elections has not been fully disclosed, sources suggest that JMM will contest 41 seats, Congress will fight in 29, while RJD and CPI-ML have been offered 7 and 4 seats, respectively.

RJD’s Discontent

The RJD has openly expressed discontent with the seat-sharing announcement. Senior RJD leader and Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha criticized the decision, calling it a unilateral move. He further emphasized that all options, including contesting the elections independently, remain on the table for the RJD.

Jha’s statement reflects the growing tensions within the alliance as the parties gear up for the upcoming election battle.

Watch// Hunger Pushes Wild Animals Closer to Cities: Are They Becoming Atma Nirbhar?

0

The increasing number of incidents involving wild animals such as tigers and leopards entering cities is raising serious concerns across India. These incidents are frequently reported, with hunger believed to be the primary reason forcing these animals out of their natural habitats and closer to human settlements. While humans struggle to forage for food in forests, wild animals seem compelled to venture into urban areas in search of sustenance.

Locals are increasingly alarmed by the frequent sightings of these predators near cities. Many are now wondering if these animals are becoming “Atma Nirbhar” (self-reliant) by adapting to urban environments, driven by the food scarcity in their habitats.

Wildlife Incidents Across India in 2024: A Growing Threat

This worrisome trend has been observed in various regions of India in 2024. For instance, in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, tigers have been repeatedly sighted near human settlements, sparking concern among both locals and wildlife authorities. Similarly, in Uttarakhand, leopards have strayed into towns located near the foothills, reportedly due to the lack of prey in the forests.

In Madhya Pradesh’s Bandhavgarh region, another tiger was spotted near villages, causing panic among residents. Karnataka has also witnessed wild animals wandering into the outskirts of Mysuru. Experts believe that deforestation, habitat loss, and dwindling food sources are the major reasons driving wildlife into urban areas, prompting discussions on how humans and animals can coexist in such challenging situations.

Videos of these wild animal sightings are circulating widely on social media, including a recent clip that is reportedly from Miyapur Metro Station in Hyderabad. People are increasingly worried about the growing proximity of wildlife to urban areas.

October 16 Incident: Heroic Action by Loco Pilots Saves 60 Elephants

On 16th October, a heart-stopping moment occurred when around 60 elephants were seen crossing a railway track. This incredible scene was posted on X by Supriya Sahu, IAS, who praised the swift and heroic actions of Loco Pilot Das and Assistant Loco Pilot Umesh Kumar of the 15959 Kamrup Express. They saved the elephant herd by applying emergency brakes between Habaipur and Lamsakhang, Assam thanks to an AI-based Detection System that alerted them to the elephants on the track.

Supriya Sahu highlighted the critical role technology played in averting this disaster. Tamil Nadu’s AI-based surveillance system in Madukkarai, Coimbatore, which uses 24/7 thermal camera monitoring and real-time alerts, has already successfully prevented elephant-train collisions. Implementing similar solutions across vulnerable tracks in India could significantly reduce fatalities and ensure safer coexistence between wildlife and human infrastructure.

Tension Erupts at Ashok Nagar as Police Use Force on Group-1 Aspirants Demanding Rescheduling of Mains Exam

Hyderabad: A rally demanding the rescheduling of the Telangana Group-1 Mains Examination turned chaotic as police resorted to lathi charge to disperse protesting aspirants at Ashok Nagar on Friday.

Tensions flared when aspirants from various coaching institutions, along with others from across the city, gathered at Ashok Nagar Cross Road and marched towards Indira Park, demanding the postponement of the exam scheduled by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) for October 21. The protesters held placards and raised slogans, voicing their concerns about the fairness of the exam process and calling for changes to the recently issued Government Order (GO) 29, which introduced modifications to the selection criteria for Group-1 services.

Police forces, deployed at the protest site, stopped the rally as the aspirants had not obtained prior permission to stage a demonstration. The situation escalated when a confrontation ensued between the police and the protestors. As the crowd persisted in their march, the police used lathis to disperse the gathering.

Aspirants’ Concerns: GO 29 and the 1:50 Selection Ratio

At the heart of the protest is the aspirants’ objection to GO 29, which was introduced earlier this year by the TSPSC. The order introduced changes to the selection process, including the controversial 1:50 selection ratio, where for every one available post, fifty candidates would be shortlisted for further rounds of the selection process.

The aspirants argue that the new ratio undermines the fairness of the exam and diminishes their chances of success, especially for candidates who have spent years preparing for the highly competitive Group-1 exam. The protesters have been consistently urging the State government to revert the selection criteria to the previous standards, claiming that the changes have created confusion and uncertainty.

Background: Previous Protests and Growing Frustration

This is not the first time Group-1 aspirants have taken to the streets. Over the past several months, candidates have staged multiple protests across the state, expressing dissatisfaction with the recruitment procedure and the new selection norms. The rally on Friday was a continuation of their months-long effort to draw attention to the perceived flaws in the system.

Earlier protests saw candidates highlighting the discrepancies in the exam papers and questioning the transparency of the evaluation process. Several student unions and political leaders have also backed the aspirants, calling for reforms in the TSPSC’s recruitment policies.

Escalation of Protests

Friday’s events mark a significant escalation in the protests, as demonstrators have grown increasingly frustrated with the lack of government action on their demands. The protestors believe that their concerns have fallen on deaf ears, with repeated requests for dialogue with TSPSC and government officials going unanswered.

Several aspirants injured in the lathi charge were seen being taken to nearby hospitals, with social media videos showing chaotic scenes of police and protestors clashing. Following the incident, some aspirants vowed to continue their protests until the government agrees to their demands, while others called for the postponement of the exam until their grievances are addressed.

The current unrest puts additional pressure on the state government to address the concerns of Group-1 aspirants and ensure that the recruitment process is transparent and fair for all candidates. With the mains exam just days away, the situation remains tense as the aspirants hope for a favorable resolution.

Adani Group Donates Rs 100 Crore to Telangana’s Young India Skill University: KTR Questions Rahul Gandhi’s Contradictions on Adani

“Chanda aur Dhanda”: KTR Challenges Rahul Gandhi on Adani Stance

Hyderabad: The Adani Group, led by Gautam Adani, donated Rs 100 crore to Telangana’s proposed Young India Skill University during a meeting with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on October 18, 2024. This generous contribution was aimed at supporting the state’s efforts to bolster youth skill development through the new university.

The donation was announced via a social media post from the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office, in which Gautam Adani pledged continued support for the state’s initiatives. “Privileged to contribute to the transformative vision and inspiring leadership of Revanth Reddy with the Young India Skills University initiative,” Adani posted on X, adding that their collaboration aims to “unlock boundless potential for a brighter, more prosperous India.”

This development comes in the backdrop of a sharp political exchange, with BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) questioning Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s stance on Adani. Speaking to the media, KTR criticized Rahul Gandhi for what he called a clear contradiction in his position. “In Delhi, you oppose Adani, but in Telangana, your nominee chief minister is running businesses funded by Adani. What is the truth behind this chanda aur dhanda?” KTR asked, challenging Rahul Gandhi to clarify whether Adani is a friend or foe.

KTR further questioned Rahul Gandhi’s anti-Adani rhetoric, reminding him that just a year ago, Gandhi had labeled Adani and Modi as two sides of the same coin, referring to the billionaire businessman as “Modani.” He urged Gandhi to reveal his true stand on Adani, particularly in light of the Rs 100 crore donation made by the group to the state under Congress leadership.

Rahul Gandhi’s Job Promise Scrutinized

In the same media interaction, KTR took another dig at Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of misleading Telangana’s youth during a meeting in Ashok Nagar, Hyderabad last October. At that time, Rahul Gandhi had promised to provide jobs to 2 lakh youth within a year. “It’s been a year, and only two people have gotten jobs—one is Rahul Gandhi, and the other is Revanth Reddy,” KTR mocked.

Adani’s Influence in Telangana

The Adani Group’s involvement in Telangana’s projects has been substantial. Besides the Rs 100 crore donation, Adani Logistics has been announced as an industry partner for the Young India Skill University, collaborating to establish the School of E-commerce and Logistics, where they will help design curricula, train students, and provide jobs.

Moreover, the Adani Group has partnered with Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) to collect electricity bills in Hyderabad, with 25% of the revenue going to the Adani Group. This partnership, announced in June, has sparked controversy, especially in light of Congress’s national stance against Adani.

National vs Local: The Adani Dilemma

Rahul Gandhi and the Congress high command have consistently condemned the Modi government’s ties to Adani, accusing the group of crony capitalism. However, Revanth Reddy’s Congress-led government in Telangana has appeared to maintain a friendlier relationship with the Adani Group, sparking questions about the party’s commitment to its anti-Adani narrative.

While Rahul Gandhi has joined national protests against Adani, demanding transparency amid stock manipulation allegations, the Telangana government has continued to partner with the conglomerate for several initiatives, including the Young India Skill University and power distribution services.

The contrasting approaches in Congress-ruled states, such as Chhattisgarh, where the Adani Group also holds significant investments, have fueled further debate on the party’s overall stance toward the business magnate.

Another Threat Message for Salman Khan Demands Rs 5 Crore Amid Ongoing Investigation into Bishnoi Gang’s Plans

0

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is once again in the crosshairs of extortionists, with a fresh threat demanding Rs 5 crore received by the Mumbai Traffic Police. According to officials, the city’s traffic control room received the message on its WhatsApp helpline on Thursday afternoon, prompting immediate action by the Worli police, who registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for threats and extortion.

The sender explicitly threatened Salman Khan, warning that if the demand for Rs 5 crore was not met, the consequences would be severe. This incident comes in the wake of previous threats against the actor, particularly from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been linked to multiple violent plots against high-profile figures.

Earlier in April, members of the Bishnoi gang had even opened fire outside Khan’s residence in Bandra, heightening concerns about the superstar’s safety. The ongoing threats have alarmed the police and public alike, as they uncover more layers of the sinister plans targeting one of India’s most beloved film icons.

Plot Uncovered:

In a related development, the Navi Mumbai police uncovered a plot to assassinate Khan in June. As part of the investigation, they arrested Sukhbir Singh, an alleged shooter from Haryana’s Panipat, believed to be connected with the Bishnoi gang. The arrest has provided critical insights into the gang’s extensive operations, as authorities work to unravel the full scope of their intentions.

Unanswered Questions Behind the Threats:

Despite the multiple arrests and investigations, the real motive behind this relentless pursuit of Salman Khan remains unclear. Many are left wondering who is truly behind these threats and why they have targeted the actor so aggressively. Is it simply a matter of extortion, or is there a deeper reason behind this dangerous obsession with Khan?

Some speculate that Khan’s rising fame and success have made him a target for criminal gangs looking to gain notoriety or financial leverage. Others believe that the attack on Khan’s close friend, Baba Siddique, a prominent political figure, is somehow linked to this dangerous sequence of events. Siddique’s brutal murder, just days after the firing incident at Khan’s house, has only added to the growing puzzle.

The Larger Picture:

Salman Khan’s case is not an isolated incident but part of a broader pattern of threats against celebrities and public figures in India. The involvement of the Bishnoi gang in both Khan’s threats and Siddique’s murder suggests a coordinated effort by criminal networks to intimidate and extort well-known personalities. While police have managed to arrest several key figures, including shooters and gang members, the mastermind behind these attacks remains elusive.

The question on everyone’s mind is: when will this mystery be solved? Is it just about money, or is Khan’s immense popularity and influence a threat to someone’s interests?

The public, as well as Salman Khan’s close circle, anxiously await answers as the police continue their investigation into this chilling saga.

Five More Arrested in Baba Siddique Murder Case After Raids in Panvel and Raigad, Bringing Total Arrests to Nine

0

In a significant breakthrough in the high-profile murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, Mumbai Police arrested five more suspects on Friday, raising the total number of arrests in the case to nine. The latest arrests followed raids conducted by the Crime Branch in Panvel and Karjat in Raigad district, based on precise intelligence inputs, according to a senior police official.

The five individuals are believed to have played a key role in the conspiracy and execution of the murder. Police sources have confirmed that these suspects were also in contact with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been accused of orchestrating the fatal attack. The gang is already under scrutiny for several other high-profile criminal activities.

Baba Siddique, a former Congress leader who later joined the NCP, was shot multiple times near his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra, Mumbai, on October 12, 2024. Although he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in a critical condition, the veteran politician succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

The initial arrests in the case took place at the scene of the crime, where two alleged shooters were apprehended by the police with the help of bystanders. These suspects were believed to be directly involved in the attack, while two more individuals were taken into custody shortly after. The arrest of the additional five conspirators has shed light on a broader plot behind Siddique’s murder, which the police are still unraveling.

Case Background:

Baba Siddique was a well-known figure in Mumbai’s political circles, having served as a Congress MLA from Bandra West for three consecutive terms before switching to the NCP. His sudden and brutal murder sent shockwaves through the political community and raised concerns about escalating gang-related violence in Maharashtra.

Police investigations have revealed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had targeted Siddique due to his increasing political clout and alleged business dealings that clashed with the gang’s interests. Bishnoi, who is currently incarcerated, is believed to have orchestrated the attack from behind bars, and his gang is being closely monitored for involvement in other violent activities across the country.

Authorities are now focusing on unearthing further connections between the arrested individuals and the gang, as well as identifying any additional conspirators who may still be at large. Police have assured that the investigation will continue aggressively to ensure justice for Siddique’s family and to curb the growing influence of criminal gangs in the region.

Nawaz Sharif Hopes Jaishankar’s Visit Marks ‘Beginning’ for India-Pakistan Trade Ties

Islamabad, October 18, 2024:- The recent visit of External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to Islamabad for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting on October 16 has garnered considerable attention, sparking hope for a potential thaw in the strained relations between India and Pakistan.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, speaking with India Today, expressed optimism, calling Jaishankar’s visit a potential “beginning” towards resolving long-standing issues. He emphasized the importance of restarting dialogue between the two nations, citing unresolved disputes that have plagued India-Pakistan relations for decades.

“We need to resume talks from where we left off,” Sharif said, underlining the urgency of renewing diplomatic efforts and not allowing past tensions to derail future progress. He reflected on the 75 years of hostility between the two countries, urging, “We’ve already lost 75 years to conflict. Let’s not lose another 75.”

Sharif expressed regret that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not attend the SCO meeting. “It would have been good if Modi had come,” he remarked, stressing the need for the two countries to engage as neighbours. “We cannot change our geography. We must learn to live as good neighbours.”

Jaishankar’s speech at the SCO meeting avoided direct engagement with Pakistan but touched on key regional issues. He warned of the “three evils”—terrorism, extremism, and separatism—that continue to hinder regional cooperation, including trade and people-to-people connectivity. “Our initiatives will advance only when our commitment to the SCO Charter is resolute,” he asserted.

Jaishankar also met with Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who is a close associate of Nawaz Sharif, fueling further speculation of possible diplomatic overtures. Though cautious, Sharif’s remarks and Jaishankar’s visit have sparked hope among political observers that India and Pakistan may shift from confrontation to cooperation.

Despite these signs of optimism, deep political and security concerns still loom large, with significant challenges lying ahead for both nuclear-armed neighbours.

Shocking Chargesheet Reveals Contract to Kill Salman Khan Amid Rising Violence

0

Mumbai, 18th October 2024: A startling chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police has unveiled a chilling plot involving a ₹25 lakh ‘supari’ (contract) to assassinate Bollywood superstar Salman Khan near his farmhouse in the Panvel area of Maharashtra. The police report names at least five individuals connected to this heinous plan, which has been linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, known for its violent tactics and criminal activities.

According to the chargesheet, the conspirators were in the process of acquiring sophisticated weapons, including AK-47s, AK-92s, and M16 rifles from Pakistan. They also planned to obtain a Turkish-made Zigana weapon, infamous for its use in high-profile assassinations, including the murder of Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala.

The investigation revealed that the gang enlisted minors, under the age of 18, to carry out the attack on the ‘Dabangg’ actor. These youths were reportedly hiding in various locations, including Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and even Gujarat, while surveilling Khan’s movements. Approximately 60-70 individuals were involved in tracking the actor’s activities across multiple locations, including his residence in Bandra, his farmhouse in Panvel, and Goregaon Film City.

The police have stated that the plot to assassinate Khan was conceived between August of the previous year and April of this year. This revelation comes on the heels of heightened security concerns for the actor and his family, particularly following the recent assassination of close friend Baba Siddique, who was shot dead under mysterious circumstances. The shocking murder has raised alarms within Khan’s family, prompting them to urge him to refrain from leaving the house without adequate security.

On Wednesday, police apprehended Sukha alias Sukhbir Balbir Singh from Panipat, Haryana, for allegedly commissioning the Bishnoi gang to execute the assassination plan. Officials believe this arrest could lead to further developments in the case as authorities investigate the depth of the conspiracy and its connections to organized crime.

As the situation unfolds, the film industry and Salman Khan’s fans are left in shock, grappling with the reality of violence encroaching upon their beloved star’s life.
