Mumbai, 18th October 2024: A startling chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police has unveiled a chilling plot involving a ₹25 lakh ‘supari’ (contract) to assassinate Bollywood superstar Salman Khan near his farmhouse in the Panvel area of Maharashtra. The police report names at least five individuals connected to this heinous plan, which has been linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, known for its violent tactics and criminal activities.
According to the chargesheet, the conspirators were in the process of acquiring sophisticated weapons, including AK-47s, AK-92s, and M16 rifles from Pakistan. They also planned to obtain a Turkish-made Zigana weapon, infamous for its use in high-profile assassinations, including the murder of Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala.
The investigation revealed that the gang enlisted minors, under the age of 18, to carry out the attack on the ‘Dabangg’ actor. These youths were reportedly hiding in various locations, including Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and even Gujarat, while surveilling Khan’s movements. Approximately 60-70 individuals were involved in tracking the actor’s activities across multiple locations, including his residence in Bandra, his farmhouse in Panvel, and Goregaon Film City.
The police have stated that the plot to assassinate Khan was conceived between August of the previous year and April of this year. This revelation comes on the heels of heightened security concerns for the actor and his family, particularly following the recent assassination of close friend Baba Siddique, who was shot dead under mysterious circumstances. The shocking murder has raised alarms within Khan’s family, prompting them to urge him to refrain from leaving the house without adequate security.
On Wednesday, police apprehended Sukha alias Sukhbir Balbir Singh from Panipat, Haryana, for allegedly commissioning the Bishnoi gang to execute the assassination plan. Officials believe this arrest could lead to further developments in the case as authorities investigate the depth of the conspiracy and its connections to organized crime.
As the situation unfolds, the film industry and Salman Khan’s fans are left in shock, grappling with the reality of violence encroaching upon their beloved star’s life.
