Hyderabad: The Hyderabad International Jewellery Show (HIJS) – Diwali Edition was officially inaugurated today by Shri D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries & Commerce of the Government of Telangana, at the HITEX Exhibition Centre.
The prestigious event, supported by prominent jewellery associations from South India, is a celebration of the rich heritage and craftsmanship within India’s jewellery industry. It brings together industry professionals, enthusiasts, and traders to explore a vast collection of designs and innovations.
During the inauguration, Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted the Telangana government’s plans to establish a Jewellery Park in Hyderabad. The initiative is set to boost the local economy by creating significant job opportunities and enhancing Hyderabad’s role as a hub for the jewellery sector.
The exhibition, which runs from October 18 to 20, 2024, features over 150 exhibitors, showcasing more than 350 jewellery booths. Visitors can discover a breathtaking collection of over 20 lakh jewellery designs, covering everything from traditional craftsmanship to modern innovations. The event is anticipated to attract more than 10,000 trade visitors, providing a dynamic platform for networking, business deals, and showcasing the latest trends in the jewellery industry.
The HIJS is a reflection of Telangana’s ongoing commitment to supporting and promoting the jewellery industry, both nationally and internationally, further solidifying the state’s reputation as a key player in the sector.
