Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during a meeting with unemployed youth in Hyderabad, expressed concern over the unfulfilled job expectations of Telangana’s youth. In the interaction held in Ashok Nagar, Gandhi noted the distress among the youth who, despite a decade of statehood, face challenges such as delayed notifications, court cases, and paper leaks, resulting in the severe loss of opportunities for 30 lakh unemployed individuals.

Criticizing the 10-year rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana, Rahul Gandhi remarked that justice has not been served to the state’s youth. He highlighted the dire situation where youth, despite their struggles, are not receiving the support they need.

To address these concerns, Rahul Gandhi unveiled the Congress job calendar, aiming to instill confidence in the youth and fulfill their aspirations. Promising to complete 2 lakh appointments within one year of the formation of a Congress government in Telangana, he emphasized the need for transformative measures.

During the interaction in Ashok Nagar, Rahul Gandhi acknowledged the resilience and potential of Telangana’s youth. He declared the job calendar as not just a promise but a Congress guarantee to provide 2 lakh government jobs within the initial year of their governance in Telangana. The move is seen as a proactive step to convert the aspirations of the state’s unemployed youth into tangible opportunities.

With less than four days remaining for campaigning in Telangana ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled for November 30, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge took a swipe at the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of failing to fulfill promises.

Addressing two election rallies in the southern state, Kharge criticized KCR’s unfulfilled commitment to transform Hyderabad into Istanbul. In a post on social media platform X, Kharge asserted, “KCR promised to convert Hyderabad into Istanbul, but he shattered the dreams and aspirations of its people, while the Congress made Hyderabad an IT Hub.”

Kharge further accused the BRS, BJP, and AIMIM of contributing to delays in the construction of the Metro in Hyderabad. He contrasted the Congress’s record of implementing the first phase of Hyderabad Metro with what he described as ten years of misrule under KCR, resulting in poor infrastructure conditions, including bad roads, potholes, waterlogging, and flooding in the city.

Highlighting the Congress’s contributions during its rule, Kharge pointed to the construction of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and the longest elevated road, the P. V. Narasimha Rao Expressway. He emphasized the Congress’s commitment to restoring the lost glory of Hyderabad.

As the state heads to the polls, the Congress has unveiled several guarantees for the people of Telangana, aiming to address various concerns and improve the overall well-being of the citizens in the run-up to the elections for the 119-member state Assembly.
