“Startling Revelation: Over 1000 Retired Government Employees in Telangana Still Pocketing Rs 150 Crore Monthly – Andher Nagri Chaupat Raj”

0

Hyderabad: In a shocking revelation, a staggering 1,049 retired government employees are found to be actively drawing a collective monthly salary of nearly Rs 150 crore in the state.

Recent investigations reveal that 179 of these individuals are currently employed in the municipal department, 88 in higher education, 81 in R&B, 75 in civil supplies, and 70 in the irrigation department.

The alarming discovery prompted Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari to issue an order on Tuesday, demanding a thorough report on these retirees who continue to work despite officially retiring. Surprisingly, some have been in service for seven to eight years post-retirement.

This predicament arises from a policy implemented by the previous government, extending the retirement age from 58 to 61, luring many retired workers back into service. Unfortunately, this initiative has inadvertently created obstacles for lower-level workers aspiring to climb the promotional ladder.

Stay tuned as we delve deeper into the unfolding scenario, providing updates on the repercussions of the prolonged employment of retired personnel in the Telangana state government.”**

“Supreme Court Denies ‘Breathing Time’ for Surrender to 11 Bilkis Bano Case Convicts”

0

In a ruling on Friday, January 19, the Supreme Court dismissed applications from all eleven convicts in the Bilkis Bano case, denying them additional time to surrender before jail authorities. The court asserted that the reasons presented by the convicts for seeking an extension lacked merit. The original deadline for surrender, as per the January 8 judgment overturning their premature release, remains set for January 21.

The bench, comprising Justices BV Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan, addressed multiple applications filed by the convicts who had sought an extension. The Supreme Court had, on January 8, set aside the remission orders issued by the Gujarat government, leading to the premature release of the 11 convicts sentenced to life imprisonment for their involvement in multiple murders and gang rapes during the 2002 Gujarat communal riots.

Released early in August 2022 after serving 14 years of their sentence, the life-termers had benefited from a 1992 remission policy. However, the court ruled that Gujarat lacked jurisdiction to grant remission, as the trial had taken place in Maharashtra. The convicts were given a two-week period until January 21 to surrender.

Senior Advocate V Chitambaresh, representing three convicts, sought an urgent hearing for extension pleas before Justice Nagarathna. Responding to the urgency, Justice Nagarathna directed the registry to consult Chief Justice DY Chandrachud regarding the reconstitution of the bench and the listing of the applications.

In the landmark January 8 decision, the Supreme Court nullified the remission granted to the 11 convicts, emphasizing that Gujarat lacked jurisdiction in this case. The division bench, after an 11-day-long hearing starting in August, reserved its judgment on October 12. Bilkis Bano was represented by Advocate Shobha Gupta, while public interest litigants were represented by Senior Advocates Indira Jaising, Vrinda Grover, Aparna Bhat, Nizamuddin Pasha, and Pratik R Bombarde. Additional Solicitor-General SV Raju appeared for both the State of Gujarat and the Union of India, while the released convicts were represented by Senior Advocates Sidharth Luthra, Rishi Malhotra, S Guru Krishnakumar, Advocate Sonia Mathur, and others.

World’s Tallest Ambedkar Statue Unveiled in Andhra Pradesh

0

In a historic moment, the Andhra Pradesh government has revealed the world’s tallest statue of BR Ambedkar, recognized as the architect of the Indian Constitution, today in Vijayawada. Soaring to a height of 206 feet, the ‘Statue of Social Justice’ now ranks among the top 50 tallest statues globally, with Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s ‘Statue of Unity’ claiming the top spot.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed pride, stating, “The 206 feet Mahashilpam of Ambedkar erected by our government in Vijayawada is a symbol not only for the state but also for the country.”

This monumental statue surpasses the previous record, held by a 175-feet tall Ambedkar statue in neighboring Telangana. Notably, the world’s tallest Ambedkar statue stands 125-feet tall and is elevated on an 81-feet pedestal.

Constructed as a complete ‘Made in India’ project, the statue, requiring ₹404.35 crore, sprawls across 18.81 acres of a lush green park. Approximately 400 tonnes of steel contributed to the creation of the ‘Statue of Justice.’

The development around the statue is comprehensive, featuring a redeveloped area surrounding Swaraj Maidan. Water bodies, a musical water fountain, and LED screens showcasing Ambedkar’s life enhance the grandeur. Additionally, a convention centre with a 2,000 seating capacity, an 8,000 sq ft food court, and a children’s play area have been integrated into the site, making it a multifaceted and culturally rich destination.

Mumbai : – Urdu Journalist Association Faces Scrutiny as Member Musharraf Shamshi Exposes Transparency Concerns and Lack of Democratic Processes.

0

In a recent development, Urdu Journalist Association member Musharraf Shamshi has raised significant questions on the association’s transparency and internal proceedings via his Facebook wall.

During the association’s registration, temporary executive members were reportedly handed over to the Charity Commissioner, as disclosed by Shamshi. Shockingly, the association hasn’t conducted any elections in almost a decade since its inception, raising concerns about the democratic process within the organization.

One of the key issues highlighted by Shamshi is the lack of financial accountability. The details of the association’s expenses and income are allegedly not being presented to the Charity Commissioner due to the absence of elections, leaving members in the dark about the financial health of the organization.

Further questions arise about the decision-making process related to the association’s participation in NCPUL’s 26th Urdu Book Fair. Shamshi emphasizes the importance of sharing meeting minutes if such a decision was made. Additionally, he calls for transparency regarding the funds provided by NCPUL or Anjuman-e-Islam Mumbai for coordinating the Urdu Book Fair.

Despite being recognized for organizing programs and collecting funds, the Urdu Journalists Association reportedly faced challenges in assisting its members during the lockdown. Shamshi urges the association to address these issues promptly.

In a bid for transparency, Shamshi calls for the annual submission of audit reports and financial details to the Charity Commissioner’s office. This information, crucial for the members, seems to be unknown to a few individuals within the association.

Furthermore, there is a lack of information about the election of the executive body, including the president, secretary, and treasurer roles. Shamshi demands disclosure of the selected members and the election date to ensure a fair and democratic process within the Urdu Journalist Association. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
