The blaze originated in the station’s backyard, where stored combustible material and confiscated LPG cylinders became the epicenter of the disaster, as revealed by fire officials. Madhapur SFO, Fazal, attributes the fire’s ignition to a suspected firecracker landing on the seized cylinders, causing a series of explosions.
“We suspect a firecracker landed on the cylinders that triggered the fire. Three to four cylinders exploded in the incident,” stated Fazal.
Prompt response from a fire tender stationed at Madhapur police station played a crucial role in controlling and extinguishing the flames. Firefighters are actively engaged in pumping water to cool down the cylinders and subsequently relocate them to a safer location.
