Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud emphasized on Saturday that no one is above the law, addressing the recent arrest of Tollywood actor Allu Arjun. He stated that the police had acted within the framework of the law while taking action against the actor.

Speaking to media persons, Goud clarified that the Congress government harbored no personal vendetta against Allu Arjun. The actor was arrested in connection with the tragic death of a woman during a stampede at a theatre. “The Congress government does not hold grudges against any actor. The action was taken strictly as per legal protocols,” he said.

Highlighting Congress’s past contributions, Goud added, “It was the Congress government that played a pivotal role in relocating the Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad.” He also mentioned that financial irregularities linked to the Formula E-race event in the past had come under scrutiny.

When questioned about allegations against BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, Goud asserted that if any irregularities were proven, the law would take its course.

Meanwhile, Khairathabad MLA Danam Nagender expressed regret over the arrest of Allu Arjun, describing it as a painful and unfortunate incident. “It is a relief that the High Court granted bail to Allu Arjun, who is not only a celebrated actor but also a national award winner,” Nagender remarked.

The case has sparked significant debate, drawing attention to the equal application of the law, irrespective of a person’s stature or profession.
