Hyderabad, 22nd August*: A significant surge in study abroad applications from Tier-II and Tier-III cities in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana has been observed, with Tirupati and Nellore recording remarkable growth rates of 137% and 121% respectively in 2023. This surge highlights the increasing aspiration for global education in smaller cities.

Career Mosaic, South Asia’s leading student recruitment organization, has processed over 1.6 lakh applications for the Fall of 2023 and 2024, with more than 60% of these applications coming from AP and Telangana. The trend is anticipated to continue rising in the upcoming Fall intake.

Key Points:

  • US Dominates, Europe Rises: The United States remains the top destination for students from these regions. However, European universities are gaining popularity due to their diverse educational offerings.
  • Growing Interest in Non-STEM Programs: While traditional STEM fields like Computer Science continue to lead, there’s notable growth in applications for Health Sciences and Psychology, which have seen increases of 41% and 39%, respectively.
  • Tier-II & III Cities Drive Growth: Significant growth in study abroad applications is reported from Tier-II and III cities like Tirupati and Nellore.

Career Mosaic’s Engagement in Hyderabad:

On Thursday, Career Mosaic hosted representatives from 25 US universities in Hyderabad, who engaged with students, school advisors, and study abroad consultants. The event focused on scholarship opportunities and student safety. Participating universities included prominent names like the University of North Carolina Pembroke, University of North Texas, and California State University Long Beach, among others.

Career Mosaic’s Commitment:

Career Mosaic plans to triple its specialized resources in these regions by next year and is collaborating with universities to provide financial aid, ensuring students have the necessary resources to pursue their studies abroad.
