Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Aims for Seamless Emergency Treatment Access
Hyderabad :-In a proactive move towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to initiate the creation of digital health profile cards for every resident in the state. The Chief Minister envisions linking these digital health profile cards to unique identifiers, ensuring swift access to necessary treatment during emergencies. Additionally, the health profile cards will be integrated with the existing Arogyasri card system.
During a recent health review meeting, Chief Minister Reddy addressed the concern of the mandatory requirement of a white ration card for availing Arogyasri benefits. This requirement had led to a surge in applications for white ration cards, prompting the Chief Minister to call for a uniform policy regarding the establishment of nursing, physiotherapy, and paramedical colleges within medical college premises.
Key officials present at the meeting included Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha, State Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, and other high-ranking government representatives. Chief Minister Reddy emphasized the need for seamless integration between medical colleges and hospitals to address potential shortages of healthcare professionals.
Furthermore, Reddy highlighted the urgency of completing the construction of TIMS super specialty hospitals in Warangal, LB Nagar, Sanath Nagar, and Alwal. He emphasized the importance of linking medical colleges with hospitals to prevent shortages of medical personnel.
The Chief Minister urged officials to ensure the comprehensive availability of medical services at Bibinagar–AIIMS, benefiting residents in Khammam, Warangal, and Nalgonda districts. This move, he believes, will alleviate the burden on existing hospitals like Osmania and NIMS.
Taking a hands-on approach, Chief Minister Reddy instructed officials to visit AIIMS, prepare a detailed report, and expressed readiness to engage with the union health minister if needed. He emphasized the importance of creating alternative healthcare facilities to reduce dependence on Hyderabad for medical treatment across the entire state.
