Hyderabad : – Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy declared on Saturday that a caste census will soon be conducted in Telangana, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fulfill the promise made during the Assembly elections. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) released a statement stating that relevant officials have been instructed to take necessary actions to initiate the caste census.

During a comprehensive review session at the Secretariat, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy focused on the Backward Class, Minority, and Tribal Welfare Departments. He directed officials to provide detailed information on Gurukul schools operating in rented buildings across the state and urged them to propose plans for permanent Gurukul buildings. The Chief Minister emphasized expeditious identification of suitable locations for construction.

Budget proposals will follow after estimating construction costs for each school, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stressing the swift clearance of diet charges, cosmetic charges, and cooking bills for Gurukul schools. Payments will be processed through the green channel. The Chief Minister also urged efficient implementation of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Scholarship Scheme, with a focus on increasing the number of students benefiting from the program.

Proposing the establishment of integrated educational hubs in each Assembly Constituency, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy believes this centralized approach will enhance management, supervision, and administration of schools, fostering a more competitive spirit among students. Officials were instructed to promptly identify suitable locations for hub construction.

In addition, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to explore alternative locations in town or mandal headquarters if lands are unavailable in the center of the Assembly segment. Budget estimates are to be prepared for providing scheme benefits, including gold, to Kalyana Mastu and Shaadi Mubarak beneficiaries. The Chief Minister also announced a study to examine the establishment of Backward Class Study Circles in every Parliamentary constituency as an alternative to the existing study circles.

The review meeting was attended by Backward Class Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, ST Welfare Minister Seethakka, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, and other top officials.
