Hyderabad, September 24, 2024 — In a major step towards streamlining access to healthcare and welfare services, the Telangana government is set to launch the “One State-One Digital Card” initiative. This digital family card will enable citizens to access medical care, subsidized food grains, and welfare scheme benefits across the state.
The government plans to introduce the card through a pilot project in selected urban and rural areas in every Assembly constituency, ensuring a broad testing base before statewide implementation.
During a high-level meeting to finalize the action plan, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy provided critical insights on moving the project forward efficiently. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the card integrates healthcare services, welfare schemes, and rationing benefits seamlessly. “The family digital card will store the complete health profile of every family, allowing immediate access to medical treatment and welfare schemes,” the CM said.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to develop a district-level monitoring system to manage and update the data efficiently. Additionally, authorities were tasked with studying similar policies implemented in states like Rajasthan, Haryana, and Karnataka to adopt best practices for Telangana’s card system.
This digital card will offer citizens the flexibility to access welfare benefits anywhere within Telangana, enhancing convenience for those in need.
The pilot project will begin soon, with officials preparing for a gradual rollout to cover the entire state.
