More Employment Opportunities Promised as MSME Sector Strengthens, Says CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad : In a major push for women entrepreneurship and MSME development, the Telangana government announced a new policy to establish MSME parks with a special focus on women-led enterprises. The policy, unveiled on Wednesday, includes a Rs 100 crore fund for the technological transformation of MSMEs and the creation of dedicated industrial parks for women and startups.
Under the new plan, Telangana aims to develop one industrial park in each district over the next five years. Additionally, 10 industrial parks will be set up between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Regional Ring Road (RRR), five of which will be MSME parks. Out of these, one park will be exclusively for women-led MSMEs and another for innovative startups. These parks will include essential facilities such as hostels, crèches, testing centers, and research and development hubs.
The new policy will also introduce the “Yantram Fund” to modernize MSMEs through innovative processes and advanced machinery. This Rs 100 crore fund will be implemented over the next four years, providing essential support for MSMEs looking to boost productivity. The fund is set to become operational within six months of the policy’s release.
A key aspect of the policy is the focus on SC/ST entrepreneurs, who currently enjoy a 33% rebate on land costs under the T-PRIDE scheme, capped at Rs 30 lakh. This cap will be increased to 50% with a limit of Rs 50 lakh under the new policy. MSMEs will also continue to receive 100% reimbursement on stamp duty for land purchases and leases for industrial use under the T-PRIDE and T-IDEA schemes.
While launching the policy, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy praised industries minister D. Sridhar Babu, calling him the “architect” of the new MSME initiative. “The efforts of Sridhar Babu are commendable. Without a policy document, no state can develop, and this new MSME policy will drive our state forward,” said Reddy.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Congress-led government would continue the successful policies of the previous administration, ensuring that no politics interfere with the state’s development. “Good programmes will continue, and if any past decisions are harmful to the state’s interests, they will be reconsidered,” he added.
Reddy also pointed out the gap between educational standards and industrial needs, highlighting the modernization of 65 ITI institutions in partnership with Tata at a cost of Rs 2,400 crore. This move is aimed at creating a skilled workforce to meet the demands of the industry, with MSMEs playing a pivotal role in job creation and economic growth.
The Telangana government has reaffirmed its commitment to fully support MSMEs, which it sees as a cornerstone of future employment generation in the state.
