Hyderabad 29,July2024 :- On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid a courtesy visit to the outgoing Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan. During the visit, Reddy presented the Governor with a shawl and a memento, congratulating him on his new appointment as the Governor of Maharashtra.
C.P. Radhakrishnan, previously holding additional charge of Telangana and Jharkhand, was named the new Governor of Maharashtra on Saturday. He had taken his oath as the Governor of Telangana on March 20 and was also serving as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. He assumed these additional responsibilities after Tamilisai Soundararajan resigned to contest in the recent Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu.
Replacing Radhakrishnan, former Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma has been appointed as the new Governor of Telangana. He is expected to take his oath in the coming days, becoming the fourth Governor of the state. Notably, all three previous Governors of Telangana—E. S. L. Narasimhan, Tamilisai Soundararajan, and C.P. Radhakrishnan—hail from Tamil Nadu since the state’s formation in 2014.
