Hyderabad:– Suryadevara Prasanna Kumar, a central services officer with extensive experience in the legislature, judiciary, and executive, has been appointed as an advisor to the Telangana State Legislature Secretariat. In his new role, Kumar will assist Legislative Council chairman G. Sukhender Reddy and Speaker G. Prasad Kumar in legislative matters.
Impressive Career: Kumar brings 30 years of diverse experience to his new position, including serving as an officer on special duty (OSD) to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee. Notably, it was during his tenure with the Lok Sabha Speaker that the Lower House initiated the Lok Sabha TV channel.
Key Roles: Kumar has held significant roles such as director in the office of the Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari. He played a crucial role in the launch of Rajya Sabha TV. Additionally, Kumar served as the secretary to the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, where he introduced reforms with far-reaching consequences.
Versatile Background: A law graduate from Delhi University and a native of Khammam district, Kumar commenced his career as a news presenter on All India Radio. His diverse journey culminated in serving as OSD to the Chief Justice of India, Justice N.V. Ramana, and Registrar, Supreme Court.
