Celebrating Urdu Poetry: A Memorable Evening in Okhla Zakir Nagar

New Delhi: In the vibrant literary and cultural milieu of South Delhi’s Okhla Zakir Nagar, a remarkable poetry session was held in honor of Hyderabad’s esteemed poet, Akbar Zia. Organized by Real Cause NGO at the residence of Kamran Siddiqui and on the invitation of Younus Saifi Kaif, the event was a celebration of Urdu poetry and culture.
Presided over by Maulana Abdul Mannan Katib Qasmi, the session began with a recitation of the Holy Quran and a Naat by senior poet Saaz Dehlvi, setting a reverent tone for the evening. Asrar Raazi managed the event’s proceedings, guiding the session through a series of impactful poetry recitations that resonated deeply with the audience.
The gathering featured a distinguished lineup of poets and poetesses, each presenting carefully selected verses that captured the essence of Urdu literary tradition. The following are some of the highlighted poems from the evening:

A special mention was made of poetess Azza Moin, whose exceptional blank verse “Tanhai” was met with immense admiration. The session concluded with remarks from Maulana Abdul Mannan Katib Qasmi, who emphasized the importance of such gatherings to nurture a love for Urdu language and literature among the younger generation.
Prominent attendees included Rayees Ahmad Batla House, Rizwan Saifi, Ibraheem Saifi, and Zubair Saifi. Kamran Siddiqui, the host, expressed his gratitude to all participants and attendees, promising to continue organizing such enriching events. The evening concluded at 10 PM with a dinner, leaving a lasting impression on all who were present.
