Hyderabad, July 19, 2024 :- A controversy erupted in Hyderabad on Friday when authorities disconnected the power supply to loudspeakers at Makkah Masjid, causing a heated situation before prayers. The power was later restored following intervention by AIMIM leaders and concerned individuals.

Incident Details:
Reports indicate that the power supply to loudspeakers mounted on the minarets near the main gate of Makkah Masjid was cut off, leading to a dispute. Sources suggest that the Charminar police instructed the mosque’s superintendent and local staff to disconnect the power supply.

As tensions rose, officials from the TG Wakf Board, District Minorities Welfare Department, and other relevant authorities visited the mosque to investigate the matter. They assured that an inquiry would be conducted into the incident.

Public Reaction:
The situation intensified as local residents and AIMIM leaders condemned the action taken by the Minorities Welfare Department and Charminar police. They argued that similar rules should be applied uniformly to religious places of all communities near Charminar.

In response to the unrest, police presence in the Old City was increased to maintain order and prevent any potential disturbances.
