Hyderabad :- In a collaborative initiative between Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology (MJCET) and National Service Scheme (NSS-MJCET), a significant step was taken towards environmental consciousness. On Wednesday, the college hosted a “Climate Change Awareness Programme” at the Seminar Hall within the MJCET campus.
The distinguished speaker for the event was Dr. Shishpal Singh Rawat, President of Solar Cookers International and Climate Reality – Sacramento, Chapter Chair. Dr. Rawat, an eminent figure in the field, arrived from California, USA, bringing with him 28 years of experience as a director at Intel Corporation.
The focus of the event was to shed light on the critical issue of climate change and its profound impact on human life. Attendees had the opportunity to gain insights into the various factors influencing climate change and explore the utilization of renewable energy sources. The program aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and information to incorporate eco-friendly practices into their daily routines.
Among the dignitaries present were Dr. Mahipal Singh Rawat, Principal of MJCET, Ms. NBV Lakshmi Kumari, NSS Program Officer, and Dr. Mohammed Viquar Mohiuddin, Professor & Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Additionally, faculty members of MJCET and more than 150 engineering students from various branches actively participated in the program.
The event’s outcome was marked by a collective commitment to fostering environmental awareness and empowering students to become catalysts for positive climate change. The initiative aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and encourage sustainable practices among the future leaders of the engineering community.
