Hyderabad : In a remarkable medical achievement, a team of dedicated gynecologists and obstetricians at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Hyderabad successfully oversaw the safe delivery of a baby by a 33-year-old woman with a history of complex health complications.

The patient arrived at KIMS with a multitude of health issues, including a challenging case of Arteries and Vessels (AV) malformation that was impacting the blood supply to her uterus, as explained by Dr. Vasundhara Cheepurupalli, a senior gynecologist and obstetrician.

Under the expert care of Dr. Vasundhara and the vigilant supervision of interventional radiologist, Dr. Rupesh, the patient underwent a corrective procedure targeting the primary blood vessel supplying the uterus, effectively halting severe bleeding.

Dr. Vasundhara recounted, “After we ensured that the patient had successfully regained her normal menstrual cycle, we discussed the possibility of her conceiving, should she desire to do so. The subsequent pregnancy journey was marked by numerous challenges. However, it culminated in the birth of a healthy baby, weighing 2.5 kg. Both mother and child were discharged from the hospital in excellent condition.”

This inspiring medical success story showcases the unwavering commitment of the medical professionals at KIMS in overcoming intricate health issues to bring the joy of motherhood to a determined woman.
