Wayanad, September 21 2024 :- The Kerala Police, alongside international security agencies, are investigating Rinson Jose, a Wayanad native, regarding his potential involvement in the recent Lebanon pager explosions that killed 12 people, including civilians. Now a Norwegian citizen, Rinson allegedly owns Norta Global Ltd., a Bulgarian company under suspicion for supplying the pagers used in the attacks targeting Hezbollah fighters.
The explosions have drawn international attention, and Bulgaria’s State Security Agency (DANS) is probing Norta Global. According to reports, the company registered in April 2022, may have acted as a shell for illegal activities. However, DANS stated there is no concrete evidence linking the firm to transactions violating terrorism laws.
Rinson’s family in Kerala expressed disbelief at the allegations. His uncle, Thankachan, mentioned that Rinson last communicated with them three days before the reports surfaced. They believe he may have been deceived. Rinson, an IT consultant active in Norway’s Malayali community, is currently thought to be in the U.S. Kerala Police and intelligence agencies have increased patrols around his family home in Wayanad to ensure their safety.
Rinson’s career spans several roles, including operating an IT consulting firm, NortaLink, and working with DN Media Group in Norway. Though he has yet to comment on the accusations, authorities in Norway and Bulgaria continue their investigations. Norwegian police have initiated preliminary inquiries, and international security agencies are closely monitoring the situation as new developments unfold.
