Hyderabad, August 4 (Press Note) – In a remarkable medical event, a 26-year-old woman gave birth to quadruplets at Mina Multispeciality Hospital in Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad, on Sunday. The new mother, a resident of Kalapathar in the old city, delivered two boys and two girls, all of whom are in good health.
The delivery was performed by a team of doctors led by renowned gynecologist and obstetrician Dr. Shoiba Shakoor. The woman, referred to as Asma (name changed), was under the hospital’s care since her first abdominal scan revealed four fetuses. Throughout her pregnancy, Asma experienced complications such as fluctuating blood pressure and sugar levels, which were managed with special care and the best medical facilities.
At 30 weeks pregnant, Asma was admitted to Mina Hospital in severe pain. The surgical team, including Dr. Asri and Dr. Afrin who administered anesthesia, and Dr. Ishrat and Dr. Ramana Priya who assisted in the surgery, successfully delivered the babies via C-section. The newborns’ weights were recorded as 1.17 kg and 1.2 kg for the boys, and 1.06 kg and 1.05 kg for the girls.
All four infants are currently under the supervision of Dr. Sachin, a pediatrician, in the intensive care unit, receiving the necessary care to ensure their continued health.
