Hyderabad: Telangana continues to reel under extreme dry weather and heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring across several districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad has predicted that these harsh conditions will persist for the next 48 hours before a gradual drop in temperatures.

Rising Temperatures Across Districts

Heatwave conditions are expected to affect isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem, Asifabad, Mancherial, and Jagtial districts, according to IMD officials. No major change in maximum temperatures is anticipated over the next two days.

On Sunday, district temperatures ranged between 40 and 41°C, while Hyderabad recorded an average maximum of 39.2°C till 5:30 p.m. However, in the coming days, the city’s temperature is likely to stay below 40°C.

Extreme Dry Air to Grip Telangana

Hyderabad-based weather forecaster T. Balaji highlighted that Telangana will continue to experience extremely dry weather. “Heatwave conditions will persist, but mornings may feel comfortable due to a drop in humidity,” he noted.

Relief Expected from March 20

A change in weather is expected between March 20 and 24, bringing much-needed relief in the form of scattered intense thundershowers across Hyderabad and other parts of the state. However, Balaji warned that the heatwave would return from March 25.

With temperatures soaring, residents are advised to take precautions against heat-related illnesses and stay hydrated during this period of intense heat.
