“Voting is not just a right; it’s a powerful voice that shapes the future of nations and determines the course of history.”

In a momentous effort to bolster voter registration and underscore the critical significance of participating in elections, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) organized a Voter Awareness program at the prestigious Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society campus.

The event began with a warm welcome extended by Dr. Anupama Koneru, Principal of Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy, who lauded the unwavering dedication of the GHMC team in their mission.

Distinguished officials from the GHMC, including Mrs. Mangathayaru, Joint Commissioner of Finance and Election, Dr. Vivek, Assistant Director and Veterinary Officer, Mr. Sanjay Singh, Assistant Commissioner, and Mr. Hari Shanker, Assistant Commissioner, took center stage during the event. Their presence aimed to educate both students and staff on the significance of participating in the democratic process.

Under the astute guidance of Ms. V. Prashanthi, Deputy Commissioner of Khairatabad, GHMC officials provided invaluable assistance to new voters in the registration process while also addressing the concerns of those who were already registered. Additionally, they initiated Electoral Literacy Clubs in several campus institutions, fostering a deeper understanding of the electoral system.

This event drew significant attention, with a remarkable turnout of over 600 students from the campus. The overarching goal of this initiative is to empower citizens with knowledge about the electoral process, thus inspiring them to actively exercise their voting rights for the sake of a stronger and more vibrant democracy.
