Hyderabad: Four drug peddlers in possession of 1 kilogram of heroin, valued at Rs. 7 crore, were arrested by the Cyberabad police and TGANB on Saturday. The arrested individuals, Nemi Chand Bhati, Narpath Singh, Ajay Bhatti, and Harish Sirvi, are all natives of Rajasthan. The main supplier, Santosh Acharya, is currently imprisoned in Rajasthan.
Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty stated that Nemi Chand and Narpath Singh purchased heroin from Santosh Acharya and came to Hyderabad to sell it. Ajay Bhatti and Harish Sirvi, acquaintances of Nemi Chand, agreed to help find customers for the drugs.
Nemi Chand had been regularly purchasing drugs from Acharya and selling them to customers. After receiving the heroin, he discussed with the other suspects his plan to sell the drug and make money.
“Nemi Chand and Narpath Singh came to the city by bus, carrying the contraband in a bag. They met the other two suspects and went to Madhapur, where they were caught,” said the Cyberabad CP.
The police are working to identify individuals who were in contact with the suspects and purchasing drugs from them. “We suspect the heroin was smuggled into the country from across the border. More details will emerge when we take Acharya into custody,” said Avinash Mohanty.
The police have urged the public to report any information related to drug activities.
