Former Telangana Chief Minister KCR Takes Oath as MLA after Recovery from Hip Surgery

Hyderabad :- In a significant development, the ex-Chief Minister of Telangana and President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. Chandrashekar Rao, was sworn in as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) on Thursday. The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Telangana State Legislative Assembly, where Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar officiated the proceedings.

Mr. Rao, who recently underwent a hip surgery, demonstrated his resilience by attending the session with the aid of a walking stick. The former Chief Minister had sustained a hip fracture shortly after the announcement of the State Assembly election results in 2023. Following the incident, he had been in recovery at his residence in the city.

Accompanied by a group of MLAs, K. Chandrashekar Rao arrived at the State Assembly premises, where he was escorted to the Speaker’s chamber. The oath of office was then administered to him by Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.

After taking the oath, KCR, as he is popularly known, proceeded to the Leader of Opposition’s chamber to perform a puja. The event was attended by key political figures, including Legislature Affairs Minister D. Sridhar Babu, former BRS Ministers Vemula Prashanth Reddy and V. Srinivas Goud, as well as former Speaker P. Srinivas Reddy. Also present were Rajya Sabha member J. Santosh Kumar and Legislature Secretary V. Narasimha Charyulu, among others.

The oath-taking ceremony marked a significant moment in K. Chandrashekar Rao’s political journey, symbolizing his return to active legislative duties after a period of recovery.
