Hyderabad, March 18, 2024 – Tamilisai Soundararajan bid adieu to her role as Telangana Governor with a heart brimming with cherished memories, expressing gratitude to the people of the state for their warmth and support. In an emotive message, Soundararajan conveyed her deep appreciation for the camaraderie and affection extended to her during her tenure.
Reflecting on her tenure, Soundararajan expressed her profound connection with the people of Telangana, whom she affectionately referred to as her brothers and sisters. “Serving this wonderful state has given me happiness,” she remarked, acknowledging the indelible impact of the experiences shared with the people of Telangana.
Amidst reports of her potential foray into active politics in Telangana through contesting Lok Sabha elections, Soundararajan affirmed the special bond forged during her tenure as Governor. “Your unwavering support, love, and affection have touched my heart deeply,” she conveyed in an open letter to the people of Telangana, emphasizing the mutual commitment to the state’s development.
Expressing gratitude for the shared moments of celebration and collaboration, including festivities like Bonalu and Bathukamma, Soundararajan praised the resilience and camaraderie of the Telangana populace. Earlier, Soundararajan formally tendered her resignation to President Droupadi Murmu, marking the conclusion of her tenure as Telangana Governor and Lt Governor of Puducherry. Soundararajan, who assumed office in 2019 as the first woman Governor of Telangana, had since then endeared herself to the people through her inclusive approach and dedication to the state’s welfare.
