National parties BJP and Congress have no major role to play in the State politics.

Chief Minister Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, confident of the YSRCP’s victory in the upcoming elections, accused the Congress of playing divisive politics in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at the India Today Education Summit, CM Jagan stated that the Congress had unjustly divided the state in the past and was now dividing his family for political gain. He expressed his belief that divine justice would prevail, teaching the Congress a fitting lesson.

In an interview with senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, CM Jagan highlighted the transparent and unbiased implementation of welfare schemes, fulfilling 99.5% of election promises. He emphasized that the YSRCP seeks votes based on the positive impact of their governance.

Addressing opposition parties, CM Jagan pointed out that during the TDP rule, the budget remained the same, but welfare schemes were neglected. He affirmed that the YSRCP has spent over Rs. 2,53,000 crore on Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) welfare schemes in the last 56 months.

Responding to questions about the arrest of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, CM Jagan asserted that there was no political vendetta involved. He emphasized that legal courts, based on evidence in the skill development scam, remanded Naidu to judicial custody.

CM Jagan predicted that the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh would be a battle between the YSRCP and the TDP-Jana Sena combine, with national parties BJP and Congress playing minor roles. He explained that changes in candidates were made based on social dynamics, surveys, and perceptions.

Regarding support to the ruling party at the Centre, CM Jagan stated that the YSRCP extended issue-based support to the BJP while maintaining cordial relations with an eye on the state’s interests.
