Hyderabad :- Speculation mounts as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) stalwart and Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender reportedly held discussions with Telangana Chief Minister and TPCC Chief A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, and AICC Chief Deepdas Munsi on Friday, March 15. This development comes on the eve of the Election Commission of India’s scheduled announcement of dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

If Nagender’s rumored defection to the Congress materializes, it could deal a significant blow to the pink party, which continues to grapple with the recent resignations of key leaders.

Having commenced his political journey with the Congress, Nagender served as an MLA for Asifnagar from 1994 to 2014. Notably, in 2009, he assumed the role of Health & Family Welfare Minister in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of the late YS Rajashaker Reddy. Subsequently, Nagender briefly aligned with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) before rejoining the Congress.

In 2018, he transitioned to the TRS (now BRS). Throughout his career, Nagender held pivotal ministerial portfolios, including Labour, Employment, Training & Factories, and Industrial Training Institutes & Health in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

Nagender’s political trajectory saw him clinch victories in both the 2018 and 2023 state elections, securing the Khairatabad constituency on both occasions. Stay tuned as developments unfold in this potentially game-changing political maneuver.
