New Delhi: The air quality in India’s capital, New Delhi, has once again plunged into the “severe plus” category, marking the sixth consecutive day of a hazardous toxic haze shrouding the city. Unfavorable wind conditions, particularly calm winds during the night, have contributed to the escalation of pollution levels.
In response to this dire situation, Delhi’s Education Minister, Atishi, announced on Sunday that all primary schools in the national capital would remain closed until November 10. This decision aims to safeguard the health and well-being of young children who are more vulnerable to the adverse effects of air pollution.
For students in grades 6 to 12, there is an alternative option for continuing their education through online classes. Atishi stated, “As pollution levels continue to remain high, primary schools in Delhi will stay closed until November 10. For Grade 6-12, schools are being given the option of shifting to online classes.”
As pollution levels continue to remain high, primary schools in Delhi will stay closed till 10th November.
For Grade 6-12, schools are being given the option of shifting to online classes.
Earlier, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had declared the closure of all government and private primary schools in Delhi for November 3 and November 4, taking the rising pollution levels into consideration. The ongoing air quality crisis has raised significant concerns about the city’s residents’ health and well-being, prompting these precautionary measures.
In a recent development, Election Commission officials, in collaboration with the local police, carried out a comprehensive examination of the luxury bus utilized by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his election campaign. This inspection occurred while KCR was en route to address an election rally in Kothagudem. The meticulous examination encompassed every aspect of the bus, known as ‘Paragati Ratham.’ Election Commission officials and law enforcement officers diligently scrutinized various areas, including bags, baskets, boxes containing food supplies, and other essentials. They even inspected the bus’s restroom facilities. Notably, the entire inspection operation was documented through video recording by the Election Commission officials.
Furthermore, this scrutiny is not isolated, as the Election Commission officials had previously subjected State BJP Chief and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy’s car to a similar inspection while he was en route to a meeting in Kamareddy. The Election Commission has also extended its scrutiny to the vehicles of prominent political figures, including Ministers K. T. Rama Rao and Mahmood Ali, BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi.
Mahua Moitra made a scathing remark directed at the BJP, warning them not to use fake narratives to oust women MPs. She emphasized that she possesses the precise transcript of the Ethics Committee’s proceedings, where the Chairman’s inappropriate and irrelevant questions, opposition protests, and her own objections are all meticulously documented in official records. In a pointed and assertive tone, she criticized the BJP’s actions as “Besharam & Behuda,” “shameless and indecent”
New Delhi: Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra, who is currently facing allegations related to “cash for Parliament questions,” has launched a scathing critique against the BJP. She emphasized that before the BJP attempts to discredit its female Members of Parliament with fabricated narratives, they should take into account that she possesses an exact transcript of proceedings from the Ethics Committee.
In a social media post, Moitra, who represents Krishnanagar in West Bengal, expressed her apprehension about the BJP’s purported plans to file criminal cases against her. She welcomed the prospect but stressed that the CBI and ED must initiate investigations into the alleged Rs 13,000 crore coal scam involving Adani before delving into her personal matters.
Moitra further addressed the BJP, reminding them that she possesses an accurate verbatim record of the proceedings in the Ethics Committee. This record encapsulates the Chairman’s inquiries, opposition protests, and her own objections, all officially documented.
Moitra’s comments emerged following allegations by Ethics Committee Chief Vinod Kumar Sonkar, who accused her of evading questions posed by the panel and instead displaying anger towards him and the committee. Moitra and opposition members of the ethics panel had previously walked out of a meeting on November 2, alleging that the Committee Chairperson had asked her “personal and unethical” questions.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who had lodged a complaint against Moitra with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, took a dig at the Trinamool Congress leader, expressing a newfound appreciation for her “honesty” and suggesting that she had chosen to spare Adani in favor of Darshan Hiranandani.
Moitra had written to the Committee earlier, requesting the opportunity to cross-examine the complainant, Jai Anant Dehadrai, and businessman Darshan Hiranandani. The ethics committee is currently investigating allegations by BJP MP Dubey that Moitra accepted cash and favors in exchange for asking questions in Lok Sabha regarding businessman Gautam Adani, allegedly at the behest of Hiranandani. On the previous Thursday, Dubey and Dehadrai provided “oral evidence” to the panel in support of their claims against Moitra.

In light of the ongoing allegations and controversy, Mahua Moitra’s response underscores her determination to defend her position and challenge any attempts to discredit her using misleading narratives.
Also BJP – before you push out women MPs with fake narrative remember I have EXACT transcript of record in Ethics Committee verbatim. Chairman’s cheap sordid irrelevant questions, Opposition’s protests, my protests – all there in offical black & white. Besharam & Behuda.
Jerusalem and Tel Aviv: Tensions flared as demonstrators, demanding accountability for last month’s deadly attack by Hamas gunmen on communities near the Gaza Strip, clashed with the police outside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Jerusalem.
Hundreds of protesters, brandishing blue and white Israeli flags and chanting “Jail now!”, breached police barriers to voice their discontent with the government’s handling of the situation.
The protest coincided with a poll revealing that over three-quarters of Israelis believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu should step down from his position. This widespread sentiment underscores the growing public anger directed towards their political and security leaders.
Prime Minister Netanyahu, as of now, has not personally assumed responsibility for the failures that permitted the surprise assault on October 7, during which hundreds of Hamas gunmen infiltrated southern Israel, resulting in over 1,400 casualties and the abduction of at least 240 individuals.
As the initial shock subsided, public resentment has intensified, particularly among families of the hostages held in Gaza, who have been critical of the government’s response and are urging for the return of their loved ones.
In Tel Aviv, thousands of demonstrators took to the streets, displaying flags and images of the captives in Gaza, alongside posters bearing slogans such as “Release the hostages now at all costs.” The crowd’s rallying cry was a resounding “bring them home now.”

Based on the woman’s complaint, the police have initiated proceedings under section 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to repeated rape against the same woman. The accused, who is currently based in Singapore, is the subject of the investigation.
The victim alleges that she was sexually assaulted on numerous occasions between December 2020 and March 2023, with the incidents taking place in lodges and hotels in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, and Singapore. According to the official statement, the accused, having met the woman on a matrimonial site, purportedly promised to marry her and then proceeded to commit these heinous acts at various locations.
In a deeply disturbing turn of events, the accused is also alleged to have captured objectionable images and videos of the woman during the ordeal.
As of now, no arrests have been made in this case, and the investigation continues to unfold. The authorities are actively working to bring justice to the victim and hold the accused accountable for his actions.
