Karnataka Congress Government Unveils ‘Yuva Nidhi’ to Combat Unemployment Crisis

0

Shivamogga :- In a significant move to address the rising concerns of unemployment, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah officially launched the ‘Yuva Nidhi’ scheme on Friday at Freedom Park in Shivamogga. The unveiling ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and other prominent ministers.

The ‘Yuva Nidhi’ initiative, marking the fifth and final poll guarantee of the Congress party, aims to provide financial assistance to unemployed youth in the state. The scheme targets graduates and diploma holders who completed their degrees in the academic year 2022-23. The government has pledged a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000 for degree holders and Rs 1,500 for diploma holders who have been unable to secure employment in the last six months and are not pursuing higher studies.

During the launch event, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah personally handed out cheques to unemployed graduates who had gathered from various parts of the state. The first round of allowances is expected to be disbursed shortly after the program’s inauguration, according to organizers.

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and ministers Sharana Prakash Patil, Madhu Bangarappa, Mankale Vaidya, MC Sudhakar, and others were also present, underlining the government’s commitment to addressing the pressing issue of unemployment.

In a statement, Minister Sharana Prakash Patil clarified that the ‘Yuva Nidhi’ scheme is applicable exclusively to graduates and diploma holders domiciled in Karnataka. This targeted approach aims to ensure that the benefits reach those in need within the state.

This latest initiative adds to the series of guarantees introduced by the Congress government, including ‘Shakti’ (free rides for women in non-luxury government buses), ‘Anna Bhagya’ (providing 10 kg of rice to BPL families), ‘Gruha Jyoti’ (offering free electricity up to 200 units for households), and ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ (monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,000 for women heads of families with APL/BPL ration cards). The comprehensive approach seeks to address multiple aspects of citizens’ welfare and well-being.

“Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy’s Absence at AICC Meeting Due to Health Concerns”

Hyderabad :- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has chosen to forego the All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting in New Delhi today, citing health reasons. Mr. Reddy, currently under the weather, received medical advice against travel, particularly in the cold conditions prevailing in New Delhi.

Sources within the party disclosed that doctors recommended two days of rest for the Chief Minister and strongly advised against exposing him to the cold temperatures in the national capital. In light of this, Mr. Reddy decided to cancel his trip to New Delhi and, instead, is dedicating his time to review meetings at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat.

While refraining from the New Delhi meeting, Mr. Revanth Reddy is expected to embark on his journey to the capital on January 13. During this visit, he plans to engage with party leaders and participate in the commencement of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, scheduled to kick off from Imphal on January 14.

“Political Prowess Unveiled: Kodandaram and Zafar Javeed on the Verge of Telangana’s Cabinet Horizon”

New Delhi/ Hyderabad :- In a significant political development, prominent Muslim leaders, including Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Zafar Javeed, Mohammed Azharuddin, Khusro Pasha, and Faheem Qureshi, have emerged as potential contenders for inclusion in the Telangana cabinet. Sources reveal that the Congress party, recognizing the prowess of two individuals, Kodandaram and Zafar Javeed, in the field of education, is considering nominating them as Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) and subsequently inducting them into the Telangana cabinet.

Zafar Javeed, not only a senior Vice President of the Congress party but also an educationist, holds the possibility of securing a cabinet berth.

Recent Assembly elections saw the Congress party accusing the KCR government of forcing the closure of several intellectual institutions. The party, during public meetings, held KCR accountable for the alleged closure of minority colleges and reneging on the promised 12% minority reservation. Despite these accusations, the Muslim community rallied behind the Congress, leading to the party’s victory and the formation of its government in Telangana.

It is noteworthy that in these elections, neither the Congress nor the BRS party’s Muslim candidates achieved success. This marks the first instance where not a single Muslim candidate from a major political party secured victory. As the focus now shifts to upcoming Parliamentary elections, the inclusion of Muslim representation in the Telangana cabinet becomes a critical consideration, reflecting the diversity and inclusivity of the state’s political landscape.

UK Anticipates ‘Worst Snow in 14 Years’ as Week-Long Deep Freeze Looms

Weather experts warn of unprecedented snowstorm and prolonged cold spell

Introduction:

In a chilling forecast, weather experts are cautioning the United Kingdom to brace for the most severe snowstorm and coldest deep freeze in 14 years. The Met Office refrains from providing precise figures but acknowledges the imminent threat of significant snowfall, while various forecasting sites paint a grim picture of the upcoming wintry conditions.

Forecast Highlights:

  • Snowfall Predictions: Meteorologists predict a high likelihood of snow blanketing the nation next week, with specific figures remaining undisclosed. Forecaster James Madden from Exacta Weather suggests a snow risk surpassing any year since 2010, hinting at widespread snow-covered landscapes.
  • Temperature Plunge: Harsh overnight frosts and bone-chilling temperatures, potentially dropping as low as -15°C in the coldest regions, are anticipated over the coming weeks, creating a prolonged cold spell.
  • WX Charts Modeling: Advanced weather modeling from WX Charts indicates the possibility of snow covering almost the entire country by the week’s end. Elevated regions, such as the Brecon Beacons and Cairngorms National Park, could witness substantial snow accumulation, with up to 40cm expected in some areas.

Expert Insights:

  • James Madden’s Warning: Madden emphasizes the heightened risk of snow during the next few weeks, surpassing recent years and echoing the conditions observed during the notable big freeze of 2010. Images of vast snow-covered regions are anticipated, accompanied by an extended cold spell.
  • Met Office’s Caution: The Met Office’s Aidan McGivern notes a northerly airflow and snow showers at the week’s start, with uncertainties regarding the impact of low pressure from the southwest. Divergent model predictions indicate the potential for snow, as cold air intersects with moisture from the Atlantic.

Sudden Stratospheric Warming:

Forecasters attribute the impending cold and snow to Sudden Stratospheric Warming, causing a drop in temperatures. This phenomenon alters the jet stream, leading to ‘blocking high pressure’ that hinders the passage of weather systems. Consequently, the UK braces for extended periods of low temperatures and, in some instances, substantial snowfall.

Stay tuned for further updates as the UK prepares for a winter onslaught not seen in over a decade.

“Give a Missed Call for Justice: Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Rallying Support with 9891802024”

New Delhi – In a development rife with political implications, Rahul Gandhi’s ambitious Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is set to kick off from Manipur on January 14, albeit with a “limited number of participants.” The Manipur government, after an eight-day deliberation, granted approval for the Hapta Kangjeibung ground as the designated venue for the yatra’s flag-off.

The official order from the Imphal East district magistrate’s office specified, “Only flagging off of the Yatra with a limited number of participants is hereby allowed on January 14 to prevent any untoward incident and disturbance in law and order. The number and name of the participants shall be provided in advance to this office to enable necessary precautionary measures.”

Concerns about potential law and order issues were underscored in the order, citing a report from the Imphal East district superintendent of police predicting a massive crowd during the opening ceremony. The prevailing law and order situation, coupled with the enforcement of Section 144 Cr Pc in Imphal East district, prompted the cautious approach.

Earlier in the day, the Congress had alleged that the Manipur government initially denied permission for the venue. The party labeled the government’s stance as a “violation of people’s rights” but affirmed its determination to commence the yatra from Manipur “at any cost.” This move sets the stage for a potentially contentious start to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Manipur. Stay tuned for updates on this unfolding political saga.
