Watch the Video: Chaos Erupts in Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra as BJP Workers Disrupt with Flags; Rahul Gandhi Steps Off the Bus, Declares “Our Shop is of Love, Not Hatred” – Check Out the Flying Kisses
In a tumultuous turn of events during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, faced alleged attacks by BJP supporters. The Congress party accused the BJP of orchestrating the attacks at the direction of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Rahul Gandhi, who encountered a crowd chanting “Jai Shri Ram” and “Modi, Modi” slogans, asserted that his party remains unfazed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Sarma.
As the political tension escalated on the eve of the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, the Congress claimed that its leaders, including Jairam Ramesh and Assam unit chief Bhupen Kumar Borah, were deliberately targeted. The Yatra, re-entering Assam from Arunachal Pradesh, faced obstacles allegedly created by Sarma’s administration.
Video footage surfaced showing BJP workers attacking Assam Congress Chief Bhupen Kumar Borah, leaving him injured with a bleeding nose. The Congress promptly filed a police complaint regarding the incident. In response, the Congress chief addressed the media in English, exposing what he termed as the corruption of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. A video clip was shared to bring attention to the matter.
Despite the incidents, Rahul Gandhi remained composed, waving and interacting with the BJP supporters. In a post on social media, he stated, “Our ‘Mohabbat ki dukaan’ (shop of love) is open for everyone. ‘Judega Bharat, Jeetega Hindustan’” and shared a video of the encounter.
Jairam Ramesh’s vehicle was allegedly attacked, and reporters accompanying the Yatra were reportedly manhandled by unknown individuals. The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) reported that Bhupen Kumar Borah’s car was stopped, and he was physically assaulted, resulting in a bleeding nose.
Addressing the public, Rahul Gandhi recounted the incidents and emphasized that the Congress is not intimidated by the BJP or RSS workers. He challenged the narrative propagated by the BJP and asserted that the Congress remains undeterred in its pursuit of justice.
The BJP, on the other hand, claimed that Rahul Gandhi was perturbed by the chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Modi, Modi.” Assam Chief Minister Sarma defended the right of Ram Bhakts to chant slogans and accused Gandhi of being rattled.
The political landscape continues to heat up as the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra faces resistance in Assam. The Congress leaders vow to press on with the Yatra, denouncing what they perceive as orchestrated attacks and disruptions by the ruling BJP in the state.
