In several regions, political fortification has been established, rendering the concept of democracy meaningless. In these areas, the outcome of elections is predetermined long before they take place. These remarks were made by the Vice President of the country, Jagdeep Dhankhar, during a press conference held in Jaipur for chartered accountants. He stated that the demographic balance is rapidly changing in many parts of the world, which should serve as a moment of reflection for everyone.
While in Jaipur, Dhankhar noted that as challenges increase rapidly, failing to address them appropriately could lead to existential issues for all. He mentioned that there are several countries in the world that have lost their identity, and there is no need to name them. Today, the population balance in these countries has drastically shifted, with changes reaching as high as 100 percent. This phenomenon can be referred to as a demographic earthquake, and such an imbalance in population is no less significant than the effects of a nuclear bomb. He added that this list includes many developed countries where the demographic ratio is changing rapidly.
Divisive Remarks by People
Furthermore, Jagdeep Dhankhar stated, “Look at the culture of our country. Our vision of complete inclusivity and unity in diversity is beneficial for everyone. It is meant to uplift all. We welcome this entire culture, yet it is being misused. People are making divisive remarks.”
During his address, the Vice President did not specify any particular region but did mention that due to changes in demographic ratios, elections have become a matter of dishonesty. Many areas are being used for political fortification, resulting in a situation where democracy holds no meaning. There are also some areas in our country where the population is changing rapidly, and we must rise above caste, color, race, and creed. Achieving this requires collective efforts from everyone.
