The infamous ‘Chaddi Gang’ has once again made headlines, this time for looting Rs 7.85 lakh in cash from a private school in Hafeezpet, Hyderabad.

The daring theft occurred during the late hours of Sunday at the World One School, located within the jurisdiction of the Miyapur Police Station under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

Security footage from the school’s CCTV cameras captured the moment when two masked culprits, donning only underwear and gloves, forcibly entered the premises and rifled through a table in search of valuables.

The authorities were alerted to the crime after the school management filed a formal complaint on Sunday.

Notorious for their criminal activities, the ‘Chaddi Gang’ has been a recurring problem in various regions, particularly on the outskirts. Last August, the gang was spotted in a gated community in Madhapur. Additionally, their presence has been noted on the outskirts of Tirupati in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

Law enforcement suspects that the members of the ‘Chaddi Gang’ originate from different states. They have a reputation for targeting locked residences and commercial establishments on the fringes of urban areas.
