Etawah, Uttar Pradesh: A significant disruption occurred on Monday morning when the Vande Bharat Express, traveling from New Delhi to Varanasi, suffered a technical malfunction near Bharthana Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district. The incident, which unfolded around 9:15 a.m., left the train stranded and created a tense situation among the passengers.

According to officials, the train came to a complete halt due to a malfunction in its engine. Despite immediate efforts by a technical team to rectify the issue on-site, their attempts proved unsuccessful. The Vande Bharat Express was unable to resume its journey, prompting the railway authorities to take alternative measures.

To resolve the situation, the train was towed from its location between Bharthana and Samho railway stations to Bharthana Railway Station using the engine of a freight train. The unexpected halt led to a growing sense of frustration among passengers, who had to deal with the inconvenience of an unscheduled delay.

In response to the situation, railway authorities decided to halt the Shatabdi Express and the Ayodhya-bound Vande Bharat Express to accommodate the affected passengers. These passengers were transferred to the alternate trains to continue their journey.

Amit Kumar Singh, a senior official from the Prayagraj Rail Division, reported that approximately 750 passengers were aboard the Varanasi-bound Vande Bharat Express. The authorities have arranged for these passengers to be safely transported to Varanasi via the Shram Shakti Express, once the train reaches Kanpur.

The Vande Bharat Express, which had departed from New Delhi early in the day, remains stationed at Bharthana Railway Station. Technical teams are on-site, working diligently to address the malfunction and restore the train to operational status. Meanwhile, the railway authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and convenience of all passengers affected by the disruption.
