Hyderabad , 17 Oct 2024: In a troubling case of misinformation, two YouTubers have been booked for allegedly spreading rumors about a bakery located in Pedda Amberpet. The suspects, identified as Veeresh and Narasimha, targeted a bakery worker named Anwar and posted derogatory videos against him on their channels.
The situation escalated when the YouTubers posted videos disparaging the bakery’s management, which officials believe were aimed at inciting discord within a particular community. The content of their videos has raised concerns about community sentiments and potential unrest.
Following a formal complaint, the Hayathnagar police initiated legal action against the two individuals, charging them with causing discord between two religions and disseminating false propaganda against the establishment.
Investigation revealed that the suspects, who claimed to be journalists, approached the bakery staff requesting complimentary cakes and other items. When their demands were refused, they resorted to posting fabricated news about the bakery, further fueling tensions in the community.
The police have emphasized the importance of responsible reporting and the need to avoid spreading false information that can harm community harmony. Further investigations are ongoing to address the situation and hold those involved accountable.
