Hyderabad, January 11, Akai News India : Congress leader and Telangana government advisor for SC, ST, OBC, and Minorities, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, emphasized the government’s dedication to uplifting marginalized communities and promoting employee welfare at two significant events held on Saturday.

At his residence in Jubilee Hills, Shabbir Ali launched the All Minority Employees Welfare Association’s (MEWA) New Year calendar. Later, he addressed the general body meeting of the Telangana Minority Employees Service Association (TSMESA) at the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University Auditorium in Nampally, where hundreds of employees from across the state gathered.

Highlighting the Congress government’s focus on employee welfare, Shabbir Ali noted the approval of a 20% Interim Relief (IR) for government employees, pensioners, and staff of local bodies and institutions under the revised 2020 pay scales. This benefit, he added, also extends to employees in public sector units and cooperative societies.

Shabbir Ali underscored the importance of adopting strategic approaches for professional and community advancement. “Discipline and strategy are critical for achieving excellence, whether in professional or political spheres,” he said. He also highlighted his longstanding efforts to secure the 4% reservation for socially and economically backward Muslims in the state, which has enabled lakhs of youth to access higher education.

Discussing minority welfare, he criticized the previous regime for failing to deliver on promises, contrasting it with the Congress government’s inclusive policies. He detailed initiatives such as fair implementation of schemes like Indiramma Indlu and Mahalakshmi, provision of ration cards to lakhs of minority families, and completion of the state caste survey to better target welfare benefits.

In the realm of education, Shabbir Ali highlighted the Congress government’s achievements, including adding 2,200 engineering seats in minority colleges, establishing a minority law college and two pharmacy colleges, and improving representation in government recruitment processes. He assured that minorities would benefit from upcoming Group-1, Group-2, and Group-3 recruitments.

Speaking on TSMESA’s efforts, Shabbir Ali assured members that their issues, including demands for official recognition, office space, and land allocation for housing societies, would be taken up with the government. TSMESA President Mohammed Farooq presented these long-pending demands during the meeting.

MLC Prof. Kodandaram, another key speaker, lauded TSMESA for its dedicated efforts toward employee welfare and expressed optimism about the union’s future growth. Libraries Chairman Mohammed Riyaz and other dignitaries also attended the event.

Shabbir Ali concluded by reiterating the Congress government’s commitment to justice, equality, and progress for all communities, assuring that ongoing efforts to address past inequities would continue with renewed vigor.
