Rajkot: A devastating fire engulfed a game zone in Gujarat’s Rajkot city on Saturday evening, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least four individuals, including children, officials confirmed.
Rescue efforts are currently ongoing to control the blaze and evacuate any individuals trapped within the premises. The fire erupted at a temporary structure within the TRP game zone, where numerous children had gathered during the ongoing summer vacation.
Rajkot Municipal Commissioner Anand Patel stated, “Four persons have died. The exact toll will be known only after the rescue operation is completed.” He emphasized that the immediate focus of the administration is on providing relief and conducting rescue operations.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel took to Twitter to address the situation, stating, “Instructions have been given to the Municipal Corporation and the administration for immediate rescue and relief operations in the fire incident in the game zone in Rajkot. It has been instructed to prioritize arrangements for immediate treatment of the injured.”
