Hyderabad :- In a decisive move, the Energy Department of the Telangana government issued an order (G.O.Rt.No.05) on January 29, 2024, terminating the services of 11 Directors associated with the Transmission Corporation of Telangana Limited (TSSPDCL) and Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSNPDCL).

The government, in its previous orders (G.O’s 1st and 2nd), meticulously outlined the appointment processes for Directors of various organizations under the Energy Department. Directors were initially appointed for a two-year term, extendable up to a maximum of four years. However, a recent review exposed deviations from the prescribed processes in the appointments of seven Directors in TSSPDCL and four in TSNPDCL.

Despite their initial two-year terms being extended until further notice, the government has taken a proactive stance to reassess the appointment process for these directors. The terminated directors include J. Srinivas Reddy (Director – Operations), T. Srinivas (Director – Projects), K. Ramulu (Director – Commercial, DPE, Assessment, and Energy Audit), G. Parvatham (Director – HR&IR), Ch. Madan Mohan Rao (Director – P&MM), S. Swamy Reddy (Director – IPC&RAC), Gampa Gopal (Director – E Audit, DPE & Assessment), B. Venkateshwar Rao (Director – HR), P. Mohan Reddy (Director – Projects), P. Sandhya Rani (Director – Commercial), and P. Ganapathi (Director – IPC&RAC – Service).

The Chief Managing Directors (C&MDs) of TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL have been directed to institute alternate arrangements for these positions until the appointment of new Directors is completed. This decisive action by the Telangana Energy Department underscores the commitment to uphold procedural integrity in leadership appointments within the energy sector.
