Hyderabad: The Telangana government has awarded a 600 sq yard plot of land at Road No. 78, Jubilee Hills, to international cricketer Mohammed Siraj in recognition of his contributions to India’s success in the ICC T20 World Cup.
Mohammed Siraj, who was part of the 15-member squad for the recently concluded T20 World Cup, also received a share of the ₹125 crore prize money distributed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In addition to Siraj, the Telangana government announced plans to allocate 600 square yards of house sites each in Hyderabad to shooter Esha Singh and two-time world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen. Furthermore, the government has allotted Group-1 jobs to Siraj and Nikhat Zareen in acknowledgment of their outstanding contributions in their respective sports.
The allotments were made following a cabinet meeting on Thursday, July 31, where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted Siraj’s role in India’s T20 World Cup victory. The Chief Minister praised Siraj’s achievements, stating that he has brought immense pride to both the state and the nation through his exceptional performances.
Recently, after Team India’s T20 World Cup triumph, Siraj received a grand welcome from cricket fans in Hyderabad. The 30-year-old pacer was greeted with fireworks, patriotic songs, marfa music, and jubilant fans as he arrived in the city. India secured the T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final.
